I'm not sure what state that you live in. However, you need to talk to a lawyer ASAP. I've been a member of a service for over 23 years and they can help you in many cases, even with pre-existing conditions by telling you your rights and responsibilities. It's very economical. 56 to 86 cents a day, and even less in some states. They can write letters on your behalf that can help. It's too bad that you did NOT have another service that helps you "RESTORE" your identity when it's stolen, if you did NOT now it was stolen BEFORE you took out the service. There are credit collection rules which they might be violating, and they might not be licensed to collect from you in the state that you live. That does NOT keep them from bugging you unless you KNOW your rights and have a lawyer to ADVOCATE your rights. I'm a C.I.T.R.M.S. (Certified identity Theft Risk Management Specialist) I believe that we can help you, but the first step is to let me know what state you live in, did you file a police report on the cards, and do you have or can you get a copy of the report? Best wishes, Joe

Credit card companies by law HAVE to issue a fraud alert and close an account on any charges that were not authorized by you. I had both of my credit cards, my ATM card and checks stolen from my checkbook a few weeks back. The thieves used both of my credit cards and my ATM card without my permission and managed to rack up over $1500 in gas purchase alone. Both my credit card companies closed both of the cards and issued me credits on those charges. I had to sign an affidavit stating I did not make the charges, and I was glad to do so. I'd seriously look into hiring legal counsel for this matter. If you reported the charges as fraud and they did not close the account and the theives still used it, it's their problem. But if you never called and had the account closed, you've got a fight on your hands. And yes, they can come to your place of business and serve you. In some cases, they can garnish your wages first and then tell you about it later.
