difference of opinion

Yesterday i had an argument with two of my friends. They just wanted to agree that a girl looked beautiful in the wedding we went to. I dont know i didnt really thought she was that pretty but they were so much mesmerised by her. I was like ok maybe she was pretty but i have seen much prettier girls. At a point it really pissed me off When one of them said that if you ask anybody they'll say she was pretty. I dont understand how can they generalise things like that. I dont know in most cases we think that our think is more rational than other although it's influenced by so many other things around us. Does this ever happen to u?

I think beauty is in the beholder for one. And maybe sometimes we need to realize that opposites attract. Maybe that is why they are your friends in the first place.

kykidd probably meant maybe its your differing outlooks and perspectives that attracted to you to your friends as friends. That maybe it would be boring if all of you had the same opinion or perspective.

I agree with you. I hate generalizations, which is the reason I disagreed with the age for marraige. Everyone has a different perception of what is pretty or what is beautiful. In a way your friends invalidated your opinion. You have a right to disagree. But really, thats what makes the world go 'round and makes it interesting - different points of view. I think if we were all the same life would be boring. Great post - as you point out that we all have different opinion and each is valid. That its hard to generalize anything - because we're all individuals. Good job. And yes, it has hapened to me.

It happened with your answer and others in the age for marraige! Generalization. I'm glad you're aware of it. Its an important thing to be aware of. We all have opinions and thats okay. We're all right by our own point of view. :)
