Could somebody tell me, with all the diseases around that are related to eating meat, what's it with folks and 'rare&medium rare' served meat? Eating meat with all the blood oozing out? ukk! Thought this was civilisation. Then again considering the history of wars, numerous non stop killing - Guess man has always had a thirst for blood.

I personally cannot stand my meat to be even the slightest bit rare. YUCK! Any pink at all and it is going back. I will not eat it. My dad tells me that my steak is burnt if there is not any pink. He eats his almost bloody. I know that well done meat is tougher than rare, but I am not going to eat it.

Could be many were raised to believe that if you cooked the meat entirely it lost vitamins and nutritional value. Some just prefer the taste. Me well done please! But then I rarely eat meat anymore. I am almost a vegetarian. As for civilization, everyone has a different definition.
