Do You hang stockings up for Christmas

We always hang stockings, including stockings for the dog. I've gotten everything from a watch, to crafting supplies in my stocking. It's always fun to see what Santa leaves, and for me, seeing the kids' faces was always fun. Santa put tickets to the Flyers hockey game in my s/o's last Christmas, soooo we'll have to see what he leaves this year.

We don't really decorate for Christmas. We haven't for a long time. However, even when we did, we didn't have stockings. My mom made us some for Christmas last year and we hung them up, but we didn't use them for gifts. I wouldn't mind a diamond necklace though, or chocolates for that matter!

I've got three hung on the entertainment center. One for me, the wife, and dad, Nothing will be placed in them. As I eat all the candy well before Christmas. But the grandsons stockings ar on the floor right now with all the gifts. I have not had a stocking stuffed for many years other than my surgical stockings. HAHAHAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

I tried to suggest we stop doing the stocking thing this year and was met with opposition! My sister said too late and my hubby had this hang dog expression on his face and said but that is the best part of Christmas. Damn I thought, more shopping.

We always hang stockings. Stockings are one of my favorite Christmas traditions. I love to fill stockings. I usually buy way too much stuff! Filling stockings (he is only in charge of mine) stresses my husband out, though he has gotten better about it. Usually I get lots of candy in my stocking, but I have also gotten jewelry, books and other small things. I try and give him a little list of inexpensive ideas so he doesn't panic too much.

We always hang stockings. I even have them for my dogs. Usually there are just little gifts in them, like chocolate and candy. Sometimes there are also little travel sized body washes and stuff because we travel alot. I love stockings.

Stuffing stockings is my favorite part of Christmas. We did it for our kids and do it for the grandkids now. I like to put unusual candies, crayons, puzzle books, watercolors, and small toys in them. The girls usually get hair accessories, and small cars for the grandson who is a car nut. When we were kids, my dad put a book of stamps and a deck of cards in our stocking every year. My mom always put in the biggest apples and oranges she could find, and one of those huge peppermint sticks.

I used to hang them for the Kids with Goodies inside That was right to the Day I moved out but I have never had one for myself and I probably never ever will lol Love you Sweetie and I hope you get for Christmas what you desire

I have a stocking that is 5 feet tall.I hang it up every year on my wall.I tell everyone of my friends that comes into the house that it needs to be filled.I have gotten nothing so far. But on the other hand,I still hang stockings.It is only me,my husband and son who will soon turn 22.I usually fill theirs with chocolate and goodies. Mine is always empty.LOL.I am the one that does the shopping and they give me the money to do it.So I buy bigger stuff for me that won't fit in a stocking. Works out grat for me.

i have a couple of stockings hung up, but we do fill up stockings for my parents and they in turn fill them up for us. we usually get silly things or useful things, not expensive things (though i have put a tiny vase made in occupied japan in my moms stocking this year!)

I'm still doing a little decorating around the house Christmasy style. Tonight I dragged out all the little Christmas stockings that I embroidered the names of all the kitties I've had over the years..kind of made me sad. So many are in the land of Bast now The one string of stockings takes the entire length of the one wall of the living room, while the other the entire length of the shorter end of the living room. Still have more stockings to put up. As for filling gifts in them. Doubt it. Would love to get some kind of little gifts to put in my current two kitties stockings though, if I don't they might fill my own stocking with a lump of a furball.

I never hanged stockings up for christmas, because it is not what we do in our country on this holiday. We expect presents under the Christmas tree. Although I really like this tradition of hanging stockings up for Christmas.

Hello dear TerryZ. I am so glad to know that your hubby gave you such a valuable diamond necklace, which is so nice of him to his honey. well yes we do hang up all the stockings every year.i will even do this for my new kitten as well.we each have a very cute stocking,one son has spiderman,one has bluesclues,daughter has dora,hubby has a bear,and i have a angel stocking.pattie

My inlaws did when we had Christmas with them. She had one for each of us. Now its just the three ofus and I am going to buy one for me, my hubby and son and fill it with chocolate, candy, maybe a lotto ticket and some nick nacks LOL

Hi Terry! Yes, my hubby, daughter, and I have a stocking! Every year I fill my hubbies and he fills mine, then we will both fill our daughters. Can't wait till next year when she's 2 1/2 and is more into the whole Christmas thing and gets REAL excited about Santa! When I was a kid EVERY year my brother would get chocolate (The best part lol), an apple, and a Christmas Orange. We would get presents in there too, but each year it was something different! Hi TerryZ! We used to hang stockings when we were kids and I remember that each night I peeked inside the stockings on what are the goodies inside and then sometimes, get some on my brothers candies and put them on mine. LOL!..very naughty kid I was! haha.. I usually get candies and chocolates too and some little stuff toys. All the presents are usually wrapped and placed under the tree. However my hubby usually place his christmas gift under my pillow and last year, he placed his gift for me inside my newly bought shoe which I am going to wear that day..and it was a pearl necklace. haha..Good thing I didn't changed my mind of wearing the shoe that day. Hi terry:) Ive gotten a watch,ring,chocolates,undies(hehe)and perfume in those things.I stuuf them quite full of small things for my daughter and boyfriend,they even forget to look inside of them until i remind them instead of sticking their head in the christmas tree of gifts,haha!!!I need to buy some little christmas stocking weight hangers.I have them tacked to the wall trim,not nice eh?Haha. When my kids were small we always hung a stocking, but now that they are adults we don't do this anymore. Don't ask me why, because I don't know why. I think it is a good idea to do so, and I think I may try to go back to doing it again. Even if it's just my hubby and I now, I think it could be fun again. It would be fun shopping around looking for those little things that fit in a stocking. I could go to the dollar store and buy a lot of little things to put in it. I think I would really enjoy that, as I love the dollar store.

I hang stocking up for my kids but not for my husband or me. I got some little things to put in my kids stockings like cd's and hair clips and pencils and crayons and coloring books and a little bit of candy.
