Or do you dabble in lots of different types of crafts. Me, I like to try all sorts of different things- painting, crocheting, wood carving, sewing. You name it, I'll try it. I think I am best at painting, though. I have gotten much better lately, as I have tried lots of different styles. I think that the one I am doing now, cartoon animals, is my best. What about you? What type of crafts have you tried? Which ones are you best at?

Right now one could say I specialize in jewelry. This isn't because it is all I have ever done or all I care to do, but rather because it is fairly inexpensive to do, and it is one that is really easy to build up over time.
I have also done recycled and decorative paper lately. Some card making, but it is frustrating with really limited supplies. And I have been pressing flowers and greenery, that will probably slow down unless my hubby keeps buying me flowers.
I tried to crochet, I hated it. I tried to learn to sew, but I am not very good at dealing with my mom as a teacher so I will probably try again later. I have made soap and bath products (will definitely make more later) and I have embroidered. I was fairly good at embroidery, just slow. I don't know if I will got back...
There are a million things I want to try and do. Painting is one of them!

I was looking at the jewelry supplies in the craft store, and thought they were kind of expensive. It was like $30 for a spool of wire, not sure what gauge. I have never done it, so I don't know where to begin, so I didn't want to spend the money.

That's one I forgot to mention- I write. It is one of the things I do that means the most to me. Like you, I'm not good at everything, but that won't stop me from at least trying.

Polymer clay is another I want to add to my list. Does it require a lot of supplies to get started? I'm sure a lot of the tools can be regular household stuff, right?

I'm a lot like you in that aspect. I'll try anything once, and I'd love to get good in many different crafts. At the moment I'm into knitting (only scarves, but I'm planning on more advanced projects) crocheting, embroidering, sewing, painting and, if things go well, jewelry making. Knitting is the thing I do best, along with painting.

I want to try jewelry making, but I was looking at the supplies, and they seemed pretty expensive. I'll have to wait a little while to get started on that.

I will try almost any craft as long as it doesn't entail me drawing anything freehand rofl.. I have paid someone else to draw on a project for me if it was super-important that the drawing be done well..
hmmm.. my best.. two categories I suppose..
I have been paid for: bath products, candies, quilts, decoupage, cake decorating (was actually offered a contract to provide all baked goods for a hotel once)
the ones I actually enjoy most; making bath products, decoupage
I love crosstitch, but for the end result much more than the process of making it.. old age vision and my own hyper nature make it tedious lol..
I have boxes of craft projects, many complete with stash (materials) plus more boxes of stash not connected to a project yet, plus binders of project instructions.. I hate shopping, yet I can spend hours happily browsing and shopping in a craft store..
this year for Christmas I am making canned cakes.. I have tried the can-baked breads and cakes, and just love them..
So do I qualify as true craft nut? How about this? The last time I moved I had almost as many boxes for crafts as I did for everything else put together :-0
I look forward to hearing what crafts myLotters do.. I am sure I have room for one more cool craft to learn.... somewhere around here, maybe under the couch?

I also have lots of project in various stages of completion. I have a hard time finishing sometimes because I am somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to my crafts. I don't have quite as much as you do, but I'm getting there!

My specialty is making hair bows. I really enjoy making bows. I started making bows about 8 months ago. I was inspired by my 2 year old daughter to make them.I wanted to do scrapbooking but my daughter will not allow me to. I want to learn to make jewelry, knit, and crochet.

I learned out to knit, but not real good at it. I used to paint shirts, and even had a buyer for them, and I have tried other crafts, however, now ,my main craft is scrapbooking, I love it, I started it over 2 years ago when I moved in with my boyfriend, thought it would be a good way to save our new memories, well that was over 2 years ago, and now there are 5 scrapbooks, they get too full, and so I have to start a new one! lol. And we got a puppy shortly after I moved here so she has her scrapbook and then I did one for each of our jobs/careers.

That sounds great, I love scrapbooking too, but I don't seem to be satisfied with anything I do. It just doesn't look as nice as the ones I've seen other people do.

I love to try lots of things, except pottery. If I could just get past the fact that having the clay on my hands drives me crazy, I would love it! lol
I love to paint and draw. I think photography is my favorite right now. I am learning how to sew, I am getting better with every project. I can knit a little and I used to know how to crochet some but I have since forgotten.
Last year my sister got me started with scrapbooking. That is really fun too. I think I have around 6 pages done. I would have more finished but that would mean keeping my 19 month old out of my stuff. Not going to happen anytime soon!

I love trying new types of crafts. Irecently started working with polymer clay and I've made an assortment of pendants and ornaments/decorations with prints of photos I've taken.
I really enjoy photography and rather than compete with other photgraphers selling the same prints, I thought it would different to make poly clay items with a photo decoupaged onto it.
I have some really nice pictures of local lighthouses, beach/ocean and sunrise images and I decoupaged them onto ornaments/decorations and found that the local folks who shop at the craft fairs loved the unique item and they sold very well for me. I also made a bunch with my children to be given to relatives as gifts this holiday season (I know Grandma will just love getting photos of her 2 grandson's, on the beach this past summer, as a holiday ornament for the Xmas tree)
I have been told my scarves are very nice and lots of family members ask for them as Christmas gifts, rather than a store bought present, so I guess I'm a half-way decent knitter.
I also love making jewelry and while I enjoy making high-end pieces with beach glass or gemstones, what really makes me content is taking ordinary glass beads and working out color combos that are pleasing to the eye, fashionable and inexpensive. I really like hearing that fellow crafters think I need to charge more $$ for my items. I know that every once in awhile, someone may feel that because of the price tag, that my stuff must be cheap. But it fun to watch someone turn over the tag and be surprised at the price, hold onto the item and continue to look at the rest of my creations.
My table at craft shows do well (knock on wood!) even when the turnouts are less than stellar and I make some money on my items even after figuring in supplies and my time. Plus, I know that these customers will search to see if I'm at the next show they attend.
For me it's just hobby, it's theraputic to sit and create when I feel up to it. To have family and friends ask me to make them something as a Christmas or birthday giftis such a compliment and to sell the items online or at a show, and show a profit is just icing on the cake!

I am into everything! I love it. Right now I'm in a crochet kick but it changes from month to month. By far my favorite is scrap booking, crocheting, painting ceramics, beading, and flower arrangments. I like to do things with clay but my kids destroy them! And I really like to decorate cakes and make candy. That's really fun and yummy!

I do a lot of crocheting and loom knitting. I also needle knit, but not very often. I prefer to use my looms. I think that I am best at crocheting though. I've been at that since I was about ten years old. I'm getting better with my looms. Thats exciting for me because I really enjoy making things with those.
