What is your favorite beach on the east coast (US)?

from Maine to Florida...where's your favorite place to go and why? Is there a better season to go than another?

Miami Beach ... I think enough has been said. Great weather all around and beautiful people to compliment it, that or Daytona during spring break.

what is the people vibe there? is it young - night life activity? retirement? family? peacuful?? i have not been too impressed with florida...but haven't seen their beaches yet either...i don't like crowds though either, so that might have a lot to do with it...

Well the crowd is mostly young people. The scene especially at night is..well night life, clubbing and lounges in south beach, so ya it is directed towords a certain crowd. It does get busy during the summer, so off season visits would be better if you want to avoid large crowds.

I think the Pacific Ocean is much prettier than the Atlantic Ocean. My favorite Beach on the Atlantic Ocean would have to be Hunyington Beach. It is in the Huntington State Park.

Typo!! Sorry about that. Huntington Beach is what it was supposed to be. It is located in South Carolina

This is a bit odd, maybe, with all the gorgeous beaches to choose from, but St. Augustine is my favorite, or was, as it has been many years since I was there and things may have changed. But on the gulf side, I like Tarpons Springs.
