This year I have received the most precious Christmas gift I have ever gotten. On November 3 of this year, my son was born. I couldn't ask for a better gift than my firstborn. I was blessed with the sweetest and cutest little boy anyone could ask for. Becoming a parent is a gift that you would never want to return and is a gift you can enjoy year after year.
I would love to hear everyone's stories about the first Christmas with your firstborn. Did you feel like you recieved the best gift you could possibly receive?

I am certain that my s/o feels that way, since his daughter was born on Christmas Day. Of course we have to be real creative to combine the two, but we do make it special for her. I remember the first time I felt my first daughter move, it was Christmas Eve, and it was wonderful. And yes being a parent is a gift, that way too many don't take as that. I never felt being a mom was a burden.

Congratulations. You must be feeling so good on becoming a parent. There cannot be a better gift for Christmas than your son.I wish and your family all the very best.I just came across a prayer which I would like to share with you.
The Gift of a child
God our Father,in giving us this child you have shown us your love.Help us to be trustworthy parents.Make us patient and understanding, that our child may always be sure of our love and grow up to be happy and responsible. All the very best to you.

Congradulations on your prescous gift. I have one child and he is my world. I love him with all my heart and soul. When he was 3 1/2 months old my ex husband walked out on us to be with his girlfriend. For the last 2 1/2 years it's just been the two of us. When asked if I still would have had my son if I knew I was going to be a sole parent would I still have had my son. Hell yeah I would have. I know it sounds bad but I would have chosen my son over my ex husband any day. He means the world to me and together we can do anything. It's funny how children make you feel like you can conquer the world.

Last year was my first christmas with my son. It was amazing. I felt like I didn't need anything for christmas, just my son and my husband. It is amazing how much a baby changes your life. I see things differently now, and I haven't enjoyed christmas this much since I was a child.
Savor every moment, it is such a wonderful but fleeting time. Congratulations.

Right now, I'M 26 weeks pregnant and even if my son his not born yet, it,s really the most beautiful Christmas gift I could ever ask for. It's been a while that i was ready to have a child, but my boyfriend wasnt and in may he told me he wanted a child. So this Christmas I have a little bit of a gift that my boyfriend gave me :)

that's really lovely. i don't have children so i can't quite answer your question directly. But this is a nice christmas for me, spending it with church friends and my family. in fact there is a large extended family gathering coming up soon and carolling with my church friends after that. hopefully i can last through the night since i usually sleep rather early!

My son was born July of last year. Last Christmas was a crazy one. We had recently moved from Michigan to Wisconsin and we had to drive back for Christmas. While I was thankful for Marcus, it didn't really feel that special at Christmas time (he wasn't all that new by then either, and everything was stressful). This year, things are less stressful, and he is a lot of fun to be around. He oohhhs and aahhs over Christmas lights making them even more special. He gets excited over Christmas trees and decorations. I can't wait till it is time to open gifts!
