What kind of recipe are you looking for? I love to cook and always make Christmas goodies as gifts for family and friends every year. This one has alwaysd been a favorite of mine. It's called:
Cowboy Cookies
4 c. flour
4 eggs
2 c. margarine
1 lb. chocolate chips or M & M's
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 cups oatmeal
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
Combine margarine, eggs, brown sugar, granulated sugar and vanilla. Cream until smooth. Add flour, cinnamon, allspice, baking powder, soda and salt, sifted toghther. Mix well. Add oatmeal and mix. Then add chocolate chips and nuts. Drop onto greased cookie sheet, using 1 rounded teaspoon per cookie. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes approximately 250 cookies.
Let me know how they turn out. It makes a lot so you can share them.

Thanks for the recipe, Donna. Why do you name it as Cowboy Cookies? Did you have a story about it? By the way, Welcome to myLot!

I'm not sure exactly why they are called Cowboy Cookies except for the fact that the recipe makes enough for a herd of cowboys. LOL. I have another one that I make at Christmas also.
Pretzel Congealed Salad
First Layer:
2 1/2 c. crushed pretzels
3/4 c. mayonnaise
3 Tbsp. brown sugar
Second Layer:
1 (8 oz) cream cheese
1 cup granulated sugar
1 small Cool Whip
Third Layer:
1 large pkg. orange jello
2 cups boiling water
2 cups Mandarin oranges, drained and chilled
Mix first layer ingredients well; press into 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Chill. Mix second layer ingredients well and spread over first layer. Mix third layer ingredients well; congeal slightly and pour over second layer.
Chill.
To make it look more like Christmas, I sometimes substitute strawberry jello and use frozen strawberries, thawed, juice and all, but only use 1 cup of the boiling water. It makes a really pretty salad or a desert.

Here is another salad that is good at Christmas because of its red and green color.
The Hulk Salad
1 large can crushed pineapple
1 pkg. instant pistachio pudding
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup miniature marshmallows
1/4 cup chopped maraschino cherries
8-9 oz whipped topping (Cool Whip)
Mix pineapple and pudding well. Add pecans, marshmallows and cherries, mixing well. Fold in whipped topping and chill overnight. I put mine in a large glass serving bowl to make it more appealing, before chilling. It's ready to serve then without messing up another bowl.

I'm cooking the Saturday before Christmas for my whole family... there will be 12 of us.... we're having turkey, dressing, potatoes and all the regular Thanksgiving type food. Then on Christmas day, I'll put a ham in the crockpot and we'll eat it for dinner that evening. My mom will come over to spend the day with us, but otherwise it's just the four of us and mom.
Then the weekend after Christmas, we go to my inlaws and celebrate with hubby's family. I'm not sure what they are having to eat, but there will be 14 of us there.
Too much eating! lol!
