Another crazy story. I can't understand why anyone would want to go shopping and leave little ones home alone. She was able to post bond and is out of jail. Now she can go home and do it all over again. Shouldn't the kids be removed from the home in a situation like this one?

The sad truth, carolbee, is that there are not enough decent foster home situations in which to place many of these children, so the kids are returned to their unfit parents on the premise that they are better off being abused at home than elsewhere. There is no method to this madness, and I don't see a fix coming any time soon.

Adoption is another option but there again families are needed in order to take these children and give them the love they deserve. It's not always easy to find a family that can take all 4 of these kids so they are raised together. It really is a no win situation. Thanks for responding.

At the very least they should make her get her tubes tied, or her eggs removed, something so that she cannot have anymore kids that she OBVIOUSLY doesn't care about! I can barely stand to leave my kid with someone else, i worry about what can happen while i'm not there even though she is in capable hands, i still think of all the what if's! What in the world are these moms thinking about when they leave their kids home. Do they not think at all i wonder?!

It would seem that they should be removed. However the question also comes back to, is that what's really best. While on the surface, the answer is yes. Deep down it gets more complicated. Sure this mom left her kids at home and at least in some ways isn't fit as a mother, but the foster care system is an awful one. Are they really better off with that, then with a mother who left them at home?

the state has to come forward and do something.. obviously she was arrested for the reason of neglect.. and yes the kids should be taken from the home
