bluetooth connection: good or bad?

bluetooth - cell phones with bluetooth

My friend left her bluetooth connection on the whole night. When she woke up, her phone was switched off and wouldn't turn on anymore. She brought it to the service center and found out that it was a virus. Her phone is totally wrecked and cannot be used anymore. Bluetooth is supposed to be an advanced technology for the benefit of the people. But with this people are using it to the disadvantage of many. That's just sad.

Bluetooth in the first place must never be turned on always as this could really become a threat than a benefit to many celphone users. I usually turn it on when I am with a trusted friend then switch it off when not in use.

Interesting. I was unawar of the fact that a phone could actually contract a virus. I guess you learn soemthing new everyday. But you know what, if it's true that there is a virus protection setting she sould have kept it on.

Oh My I am glad I never turned mine on. I just got the new LG Chocolate and it asks me if I want to turn blue tooth on Geesh we are gonna need to get antivirus software for our phones now. It's just friggin ridiculous.

It's your friend's fault why she got the virus. Even if your bluetooth is turned on the whole night it won't get affected by virus unless she specified in her settings that any can send files to her. It is actually on the security settings.

I think the bluetooth connection is good, after all, it is free of charge. The disadvantage is its distance is no more than 10 metres. My cellphone ever used it to connect internet with my computer.

I like to use bluetooth connection. It is free of charge. There is a bluetooth chatting software. So both of you don't have to send SMS, you can just chat by bluetooth and that's cool.

Bluetooth connection has its own advantages and disadvantages as well. Personally, I always turned it OFF the bluetooth connection. I only turned it ON on as needed-basis only. Virus can spread in bluetooth connection so fast, so beware. :-)

I can relate to what had happened to your friend because i, myself, was also a victim of cellphone virus through bluetooth connection. I know it was really my fault because I one time i had left my bluetooth turned on for the whole day and since then i always have this failed sent messages in my outbox courtesy of course of the acquired virus. I still didn't mind it until after 3 months my cell just bugged down it won't turn on anymore. It was really one bad experience because it has to be reformatted and all my saved data were lost. I know bluetooth is something supposed to be of benefit to us but to those who are not quite familiar of how it should be used, it can actually work on our disadvantage. I just hope cellphone companies should work better on educating people more about it.

lt costs a lot of electricity. When i put the bluetooth on, the electricity is being cost at a high rate. What's more i have already heard that some sort of virus can be transmitted through bluetooth. Any technology can be a double-blade sword, those deadly weapons are based on technology too. We should take fully care of it. Sorry for your friend's phone.

That was a bad habit I think. You know why, since via bluetooth, people can send and steal any programs to and from the cell phone we have accidentally. I said accidentally because we don't realize that our data or whatever inside the cellphone stolen or infected by viruses.

bluetooth is one good mode to transport data wirelessly.but since there is a lot out there who uses it to spread cellphone viruses, its wiser to password protect your bluetooth connection or make it hidden so no intruders can get on your phone without you knowing it.if it has a password they cant send you a virus unless you accept the incoming connection.try to put also antivirus software on your phone for protection.

Using bluetooth for me is good because it makes the file transfer *from phone-to-phone, etc.* easier. However, bluetooth users must be aware of its disadvantages like in this case, its the main reason why your friend's cell got busted. Users must use it properly, like change something in the setting so that it wont automatically accept files withoutthe owner's permission and also turn the bluetooth off if not in use.
