I wanted to get a little something for my co-workers....but since I'm on a budget....that doesn't leave a lot of choices. So my solution was....make some fudge.
I found a super easy recipe form Eagle Brand sweetend condensed milk.
Ingredients for Foolproof Chocolate Fudge
3 cups (18 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14-ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
Dash salt
1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
In heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate chips with EAGLE BRAND® and salt. Remove from heat; stir in nuts (optional) and vanilla.
Spread evenly into wax paper lined 8- or 9-inch square pan. Chill 2 hours or until firm.
Turn fudge onto cutting board; peel off paper and cut into squares. Store covered in refrigerator.
Notes: Microwave: In 1-quart glass measure, combine chocolate chips with EAGLE BRAND® and salt. Cook on HIGH (100% power) 3 minutes or until chips melt, stirring after 1 1/2 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients. Proceed as above. Variations: Creamy Dark Chocolate Fudge: Melt 2 cups miniature marshmallows with chocolate chips and EAGLE BRAND®. Proceed as above. Milk Chocolate Fudge: Omit 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. Add 1 cup milk chocolate chips. Proceed as above. Rocky Road Fudge: Omit 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, salt, nuts and vanilla. In saucepan, melt chocolate chips with EAGLE BRAND® and 2 tablespoons butter or margarine. In large bowl, combine 2 cups dry-roasted peanuts and 1 (10 1/2-ounce) package miniature marshmallows. Stir in chocolate mixture. Spread in wax paper-lined 13x9-inch pan. Proceed as above. (Makes about 2 3/4 pounds)
I ended up making 3 different types....dark chocolate...milk chocolate and white chocolate and they are so yummy.
This is really foolproof....as long as you don't burn it.
I added chopped walnuts to the dark and white chocolate.....and coconut(my favorite) to the milk chocolate one.
I love getting homemade food gifts.....how about you?
What are some of you favorites to make or to receive?

I have made similar fudge. It turns out pretty good. For the White Chocolate fudge try it with crushed up Oreo's on the bottom and top of the fudge. It is awesome, but insanely sweet.
I am broke this year so everyone but my kids are getting something homemade. Plus, I think the people on my list appreciate the homemade gifts. I made spiced pecans one year for everyone. I told my family this year to pick what they want and I will make it for them.

Thanks for the recipe. This year most of the family won't be exchanging gifts but I always try to do something to give everyone as I love to give. SO this would make a great small gift without them knowing I did get them something. Thanks again.

I made fudge for the first time the other day and its been a HUGE hit! All the recipe calls for is this
3 cups semi sweet choc chips
1 (14oz) can of sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup butter
1 cup walnuts (optional..or you could add marshmellows etc etc)
Put first 3 ingredients into a microwave safe bowl. Zap on med for about 3-5 mins or until chips are melted. Stir once or twice during cooking. Stir in nuts/marshmellows etc if adding them..Pour into a well greased 8x8 glass baking dish. Stick in fridge until set....
Note- you can do this stovetop in a double broiler or bowl and pot etc which is what I did..
Turned out super good and I dont even like sweets LOL the kids friends have been raving about it too LOL
