how long did you wait until you got engaged.

Fiancee and I were in the same class in college, in feb - valentines 2003 we fell in love and have been in love since then. I got engaged in August last year and the wedding is around the corner, that is on 04-04-08. It will be 5 years and 2 months when we marry.

We waited about 2 1/2 years. But before the engagement we had also been living together for 2 years. We also got 2 dogs together as well. I just "knew" that he was the one so I moved from OH to VA to live with him and settled here with him, got a job, and I'm loving it. I think it's important to a relationship to make sure that you are compatible in your living quarters before you make the big commitment. If you can't live together than how are you going to make it work.

Well, I may have one of the shorted engagements for what people think of in time of Engagements, Marriage, getting to know someone etc. I met my husband in June of 98. We were Engaged the first part of November 98, and Married Feb 99. We have been together ever since, and are very much in Love, and would never trade our lives for anything even in the Bad times. I knew the day we met, he was the man for me, and have never looked back a day since.

We waited a few years, i think we waited 3 to be exact. We knew we were going to get married, but we are both procrastinators, so we ended up getting married after i got pregnant. A little backwards i know, but it worked out in the end!

I waited a while, a few years before myself and kate got married. it's normally best to know whatever happens can be dealt with before.. I also living together is something which should be done before marriage but if people stick at it you know they'll make it work. Kudos, ~Joey

We got engaged in June after 3 and a half years together and we will be getting married in July 2010 so we will have been together for 6 and a half years when we get married. It is interesting to see how long people wait, it varies on when you feel ready I know people who've been engaged after a couple of months.

My husband and I knew eachother a little over two years before we got engaged, and then we married three months after we got engaged. We eloped. Now, almost a year after our marriage, we are planning a "second wedding" for the people who were not there when we eloped.

I with with him for 2 years(2 and half if you count the 6 months we talked before we met). And then the engagement will be 2 years and one month long.

When my fiance was still courting me and I ask him how he can prove his love for me, he already told me that he will marry me. When we got officially together, on our nth big fight, he again said that he will marry me if I come back. After a year of love and hate and love relationship, he made it formal, o well I guess legal. He proposed and gave me this beautiful ring. And we're planning to get married next year. Almost a year after the proposal.
