Take her seriously as an actress?

I heard that Jessica Simpson, against the advice of her family, is doing a movie with full frontal nudity so 'people will take her seriously as an actress.' I don't know about you, but for me willingness to be nude is not the defining characteristic of a good actress. It has more to do with the ability to act. From what I've seen of her so far, she can't. Maybe being nude will distract people from her bad acting. What are your thoughts?
