Well, Terry Pratchet has been diagnosed with early onset altzeimer's disease, shouldnt we be celebrating this mans genius now? I get so angry with the outpouring of what can only be described as a kind of necrophilia, lets tell this genius how revered he is now until waiting until he can no longer hear us?

He is probably the funniest writer I know of. I'm sorry to hear this news. I hope he has an easy time of it then many, I know there has been some improvements in treatment especially when it is caught early, but I don't know many details.

He said he still had time for a few more books in his statement he's probably still got years left it's morbid to just look at the fact he's going to die eventually. There's no need to mourn yet, we just need to enjoy his new books even more as we now know they are going to come to an end. :(

Yes, this is indeed sad news. With such an imagination, it feels like and unthinkable waste. I'm with you in letting him know how revered he is.. :-)
