Workers Comp Stress Claim

My husband just turned 31 and has been going to the doctor with a variety of health complaints for several years now and has under gone a ton of tests. They always come back saying there is nothing physical causing the problems it is all stress related. Most recently he went to the doctor today with chest pain and the doctor said he was on the verge of a heart attack and wanted him to stay home until January (which we can't afford). So to the point, has anyone here ever filed a Workers Company Stress Claim. How did it go, did you need a lawyer, what kind of proof did they require, etc.?

i think your best bet would be going on unemployment... with workers comp i dont think they have stress claims... if you have a note signed by your doctor you will have no prob with getting unemployment sick benefits.. key word is the sick benefits.. i hope this helps... good luck...

He would have to be unemployed to get unemployment benefits. He is still employed there.

yes he is still employed at the place.. but is NOT working... thats why they are called sick benefits... you will need to get a t4 slip and in the code make sure that they put in illness as the reason for off work... take that into your local resource branch and talk to them there.. you will fill out an application etc about why hes off etc etc... better yet... where do you live... maybe i can help you out from here.. you can do them online....
