Parenthesis (Smarenthesis)

What is with the number in parenthesis next to my name. Are they counting my cuss words? Will I get a gold star for I'm doing. I need some answers it probably already been answered, but I thought this was a discussion board. What will I gain from simply typing in the search and reading the answer that pops up? How will I meet new people, how will I share my dry comedy with the lotters of myLot? Thanx In Advance.

The number next to your name is how many posts you've done. Right now it's a 12 so you must have posted 12 times. It counts your discussions and your responses to discussions.
