How often do you attend party?

Most of us have attended a party right?
I just love sharing my experience last December 9, 2007. It was an anniversary celebration for our community's 25th year.
The attire was formal. Most of us were pressured on what gown to wear. I personally do not own a long gown. It was agreed that a long gown is more formal and appropriate to wear. It was for the purpose of honoring the event as well as our Maker.
An angel, heaven sent, lend us beautiful and expensive elegant long gowns. I was so happy to wear them for free. It is my first time to attend a party with a formal attire.
During our college years, we have this annual party. But the attire we all casual. No formal attire was required before.
In our office, we also have annual or semi-annual celebrations for us to party. But it was all casual, no formal attire was required too.
The experience of wearing a long formal gown was something I would treasure. I really felt I was the Cinderella at that evening.
When do you often party? Were there a time that you were required to wear a formal attire such as a gown or tuxedo?

Yes we are like a princess when are wearing a gown. Together with the make-ups and accessories.
I think ladies are more than a doll during formal gatherings. Yes I have attended several weddings too. But this experience is something other that a wedding ceremony.

I'm not fond of parties but if my presense is required, better be very casual cause I will show up in sweats or t-shirt/jeans. You won't catch me alive at a formal event.

There are so much fun and unforgettable experience during our high school days. I also remember the first party we had during high school, but we were never in formal attire. We just wear something semi-formal, like a dress. Thanks for sharing your response. God bless!

I've never really been to any parties. I go to my mother's friend's Christmas celebrations, but I usually sit in a corner and read a book. I've never, ever been to any formal event in my life. I;m very much looking forward to my wedding so that I can dress up, since I've never been able to before.

I've only ever been to three weddings, one when I was 3 years old, one when I was 8 and a very, very, very low-class casual elopement 3 years ago.

I'll have to say good luck to your up coming wedding.
We'll I have been wearing gowns during wedding ceremonies only. The usual party outfit is casual and plain dresses.
I am sure you will enjoy how you look when you walk down the isle. Have a great day!

that sounds really fun and interesting! sometimes I like to dress up, other times I find it quite a chore to get all made up.
the worst nightmare is to go to a formal event and find that someone else is wearing the same dress! i saw this once, the pictures came up on the newspaper and there were two girls with the same dress in the same picture!
it was quite a grand event too so they must have been really embarassed. it makes me think - for the oscars and stuff like that there must be someone coordinating to make sure that the stars don't come in the same expensive versace gown right? haha.

Actually, I've attended a total of ONE party in my entire lifetime. I've hosted a few small social gatherings though, like for my Mom's birthday last year.
Or my frequent parties OF one lol.
It's not that I don't like parties, it's just I'm not a terribly social person and made no attempts to BE social in the past. This year's different, my old work has invited me to a pizza party next week to thank me for my help, for example.
And I'm gonna also have a small party on Febuary 2nd...it'll be just me again, prolly, but I didn't do that last year.
I wear whatever's appropriate. For example, the ONE party I ever attended? It was on halloween, so it was a costume party.
My parties of one tend to be celebrations of my own religion's holidays (I'm a minority in my city, thus the 'one' part of the party lol)..so sometimes I dress up on those days.
But normally, if I'm going to any social function at all, I wear casual stuff. Even if everybody else has decided to dress up...'cause that's how I feel like.
*shrugs*

P.s. I don't EVER wear dresses unless I'm forced, threatened, and my arm's bruised a bit from all the twisting...'cause I don't like them. Which may be why I haven't been invited to alot of parties.
If I ever get married someday, that's gonna be a problem, huh? *laughs*

party such as birthday party of my kids...well yearly. But a real party of others... I believe that the last time taht I attended one was 6-7 years ago. It was a debut of my best friend... I was still single during that time.I rarely attend parties because I would rather spend my extra time with my kids rather than going out. I always feel that I want to be with my kids as much as possible.

I believe that for married ones, the kids are always the priority. As you said, you attend party every years, the party of your kids' birthday. Honestly, when I was young, we never experience a party during our birthdays. Hehehe.

Most of the parties that I attend are those normal ones and have not tried using a formal long gown ever since. You look lovely with your long gown and I know you really enjoyed your party.

I used to like going to the formals when my husband was active duty in the military - a nice feeling all dressed up like that - we also dressed well for yearly Christmas outings and retirement parties.... but since he left the military we go to the yearly picnic for his job and that is about it - nothing dressy about that.

Hello dear beauty_ph. I am glad to know that you have had such a great party and I think that you must have had some fun at the party. I have to say that I have not been to such a party that tuxedoes are required to wear. We usually wear casual clothes. Thanks for your discussion, dear friend.

Hi beauty_ph! I am sure you must have look so gorgeous that night! As for me, I have attended a lot of formal parties and functions and although I might say that attending formal parties are quite exquisite, I would rather attend a not so formal one. I like wearing gowns though but I feel restricted with my movements. LOL! I enjoy parties that I can wear jeans. haha..Take care and have a nice day! Merry Christmas and Peace to all! :)

Hi,there! It's really hard to see how often that I attend a party.Well, sometimes I attend several parties in one month, sometimes there's none in the whole month.Like the last few months,I've attended many parties. There're some wedding parties, some birthday parties and friends' getting together parties.I really enjoyed them pretty much and I felt very happy to see my friends being happy:) Once when I was in the university,I was the host of an English evening,at that time,I was required to wear the formal gown. That was very interesting and we all experienced a wonderful night.LOL! Thanks for the discussion and have a nice weekend^_^

I'm not much into parties. I'm really the type who'd rather chill at home. Whenever I get an invitation I always look for an excuse. When I don't have an excuse, that's when I attend. Haha. I've never worn a tuxedo all my life. I hope I never have to. That's just too formal for me.

Since young, I have never like going to parties as I do not have nice clothes to wear. So when I grow up, partying is never something I look forward to because it will eat into whatever my family or I can afford. To spend for a night of vanity, I feel it is a waste of money though I would love to pamper myself once a while.

I myself have never been a favorite to wear party clothes, the only time I wear formal attire is weddings! But I have noticed here lately more and more people are starting to dress casual to what used to be formal attire dress code! That's the way the new generation is going!

I can barely remember the last time I attended a party. Well in college years... we always have it every year. But wearing a gown such as that nope. But if weddings are counted then I had worn something of a formal thing for in 2 weddings I had been a maid of honor. But I can't stand the make-up and high heeled shoes so I usually pray its over even if it had just started. By the way... you look nice in that gown.

I commented on your photo and hope you will with mine. I must say beauty you look striking and the color really suits you! In regard to your question about parties and form attire. It has been years since I have been anywhere where formal attire was a must. We moved from our old home town of Winnipeg to a rural community. There are very few events out here where we'd have an occasion to get that dressed up and we are fine with that.
We do attend parties and functions but they are informal and we like it that way. I have included a photo of a Big Brother/Big Sister party we attended. That is more our style these days.
Wishing you and yours the best of the season whether we are dressed up or not!
