Ways to be More Positive...

I was just thinking I should try to be more positive. I came up with a couple of ideas. If you start to say "I don't like...", instead think of something that you do like and say that instead. Also, I read somewhere that comedy helps people who are depressed. I love sitcoms, so I think starting out your day with at least a half an hour sitcom will help brighten your mood all day. What ideas do you have to stay more positive?

Being positive really is good. We should not entertain negativity around as it will only make us feel down. We must believe all things are possible. It's like expecting the best, if you expect the best you will get the best and if you expect the worst you will get the worst. To learn to believe is of primary importance. When you expect the best , you release a magnetic force in your mind which by a law of attraction tends to bring the best to you. But if you expect the worst, you release from your mind the power of repulsion which tends to force the best from you. If we change the way we look at things. The things you look at change. Thoughts become things. Choose your thoughts well.

To become a positive person is a very tough choice for which one has to constantly make an effort. As far as I am concerned no sooner anything comes to mind I immediately discard the idea and constantly I remind myself that I will have to be positive in whatever I do. This autosuggestion if you write somewhere and keep repeating it then gradually you do become positive.

Autosuggestion is a great way to learn anything and why not use it to become more postive! Thank you very much for your thoughts and ideas. Have a good day!

Positivity can be simply described as feeling good about one's existence. Once you start to appreciate nature and god, the limitations and the infinite horizons, you will start to know life better. I remember a time when i was going through a lot of trouble, and i remember thinking to myself that what can i do to be more positive. A year later, i realize i was wrong. The question itself was wrong. It is because, one day, i just got out of bed, early for a change, and i said to myself, lets live now, lets do only good things, and after then, its been good. Life is good now and i am really enjoying the life of a human.

I've put a lot of effort into this over the last few years. I used to be very negative, and I decided that I wanted to make a really concerted effort to become much more positive. One of the key decisions I have had to make is "Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?" Being happy has to be a priority if you want to give up negativity. Some of the key things that have helped me are to develop an "attitude of gratitude" - being thankful for what you have, making lists of things that either are good for me or that make me happy, and doing at least one of those things every day, avoiding news because it is almost always negative, and ensuring that if I make a promise, I follow through on it. Even just doing those basic things has really made a profound difference in my life.

i always do ask tis question whenever my friends tell me to stay positive.. "how can staying positive or maybe thinking positively help me?" i mean, if something bad is destined to happen, how can we change it? i do stay positive after it happens but never before it happens.

I think sometimes you not only have to think positive, but you also have to think positively ahead. In other words if you prepare yourself in case something would happen, a lot of times it doesn't even happen. Good luck to you and thank you for your post!

It's quite an hard thing to do, recently I had a few days where I couldn't stop thinking about my grandmother who had recently passed away. The only thing which cheers me up, allowing me to stay positive is thinking about my son. His amusing self is quite a good way for me to do so. ~joey

Here's my favorite and I got it from Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad series: When you want to buy or do something but don't have the money for it, instead of thinking "I can't afford it", ask yourself "How can I afford it?". That way your brain will kick into action and generate ideas how to make extra money.

To stay positive firstly we have to think positive. When one person is in some trouble or in some failures generally we start to think negatively though he may be very positive in every situation. So, the first thing we should do that in acute situations, we should always hope we will go for some more good, and what ended in failure may have been a worst in future, you will automatically think positive when you have this feeling in mind. I do use this and it is successful. May there are many techniques also.

Yes, we have to stay positive. If you keep in mind that it could have turned out a lot worse or that everything happens for a reason, then you can move on about your next adventure. Thanks for posting and have a great day!

This discussion is right up my alley. I need help on this topic more than any other person I know. I try to stay positive I really do. Sitcom suggestion seems good, I love a good laugh. I'm rather broody but that doesn't mean I'm always in a bad mood it's just a common thing about me. What gets me is when people tell me to think positive and I'm already doing so. I'm a shy person since the day I was born. People know this about me and some can deal while others can't. If I walk with a smile 24/7 I'm a freak *Watch Out* If I'm brooding I'm "jealous", or thinking "negative". How can I catch a break.
