truthfully i don't believe facebook is much safer than myspace because, just like myspace, anyone can make an account - including a fake account. people probably just assume facebook's safer because it's a networking site based on your school(s).. but that doesn't mean you can't get in contact with people from other states, etc. so it's just as dangerous as myspace. but, if you're reasonable about what you do on the sites - you'll be perfectly fine.

Well, I am not a user on myspace. HOwever, in my all time experience I can say facebook is much a safe site. You are not spammed by anyone there. Its only on your agreement, that the person becomes your friend. If you know about Orkut, than that was one of the most insecure site I have ever seen....as a matter of fact, I will tell, that site has registered cases of redirecting people to murder, kill and stuff...There are so many gang-groups on orkut, and its not at all safe there! Facebook doesn't allow any such kind of a thing!

In my opinion, myspace is more like a pick up site. I have not come across one person yet on myspace that I can't see something on their profile. On Facebook, you can set it up to where nothing can be seen. The pictures you post on facebook you could even customize which friends you want to see your pictures.
