Hey guys, I was wondering that what is the best way of exercising, is it by using weights or doing bodyweight exercise. I have always heard that bodyweight exercises are way better and will make you stronger, but will it give you the perfect body you want, like with abs and biceps and stuff like that. I know that using weights you can get that type of body but you might not get that strong. So what do you guys think, would rather prefer doing bodyweight exercising or using weights. Here's another site explaining everything about bodyweight exercises and explaining about different types of bodyweight exercises. Take a look at it guys. If you have less time scroll right down to see the different types of bodyweight exercises. http://www.fightingarts.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=15833023&an=0&page=0

I have been weight training for many years, and if you want big muscles, it is the best way to train.

thanks for your comment but i have heard that you get big muscles but you don't get that strong when you are doing weight training. You get more stronger when you do bodyweight exercises.

If I were to only train by body weight exercises and not just weights, I would never in a million years be able to bench 330 lbs as I do now or squat 470 lbs.

I think aerobics exercises are best if you are not looking for huge muscles. One of the disadvantages of the weight training is that the person has to be consistent in it. Also, a perosn who starts weight training should not stop weight training. I had been doing weight training exercises with multi in the gym. I gained some weight after stopping weight training exercises. Now a days I am doing cycling and walking to keep fit.

Hey, actual strenth lies in your mind and heart, not in the body. Body only helps to carry that strenth. Now the question between bodyweight and weight training.... Weight training makes a man apparently strong, but I never seen in my life a good body=builder became champion in any one to one bout. But if one go through bodyweight training with a little yoga under supervision of a good trainer, I think it would be more useful.

Great reply and yes i agree with you that actual strength lies in our mind and heart, but you have to agree that a really perfectly strong person should have both. So we need both of everything so i guess that bodyweight and weight training exercises. Both should be done.
