very simple.. they dont mix together... its like putting baking soda and vinegar together... heres a video you can check out on why not to mix mentos and coke....

i dared my friend quite some time ago to try it with both regular and diet Coke. Nothing happened. It's just a myth. I think our saliva neutralize it. In the youtube video, they forgot about the important factor, our saliva.

Hmm, I haven't really tried mixing them. But I partly saw on Mythbusters that your stomach won't explode, so I don't think it's fatal. A lot of those youtube videos are jokes.
