Are Liverpool out of contention for the EPL after loss to Man United?

Liverpool lost to Man United 0-1 on grand slam sunday. The goal was courtesy Tevez who took advantage of shoddy defending from a corner by Liverpool to give the Red Devils the all important win over the Reds. This loss for Liverpool coupled by the win by Arsenal over Chelsea means that Liverpool are 10 points behind the leaders in the table. Does this mean the end of Liverpool's challenge this year? Cheers! Ram

totally tragic. but i guess they deserved to lose because Man U played better. but i would say that Man U played quite dirty and I'm sure I saw Ronaldo dive. Something about that boy's face makes me want to slap him. heh. i think it's the end of Liverpool's challenge for the EPL title. but not the champion's league. they did well against Marsaille. If Man U did not score just before half time, Liverpool might have been less demoralised.

Ronaldo does dive at every chance. It's a shame given that he is such a brilliant player!! Cheers! Ram

They are almost out because slipping of Arsenal and ManU in this league simaltaneously is almost impossible. Now hope that they will do well in UEFA Cup, these defeats in EPL have given them enough lesson, i think them they will finish well in UEFA league.

I think you mean the Champions League. Yes, I think that and the other two cup competitions in England remain their best chance of silverware this year. Cheers! Ram

I think Rafa is one of those stubborn managers who does not listen to advice. His rotation policy has constantly come for criticism but he continues using it. Cheers! Ram

they had never learnt their lesson. This isn't the first time they lost their place in the EPL because of their incompetencies. Look at the previous seasons. Rafa better stop with his rotation and get his team gelled to beat the big teams. I sure hope they win the Champions League again to make it up. And no, they are not in UEFA Cup. If they lose in the knockout phase, they will be totally out, not even in the UEFA.

I think since the late 90s Liverpool has been waiting each year and hoping that this is going to be the year. But, that simply does not seem to be happening. Cheers! Ram

but it has been the same every single year, even during Houlier's time. Don't you think so?

Well, it's going to be a mounting task for liverpool. All other clubs are banking on points and while liverpool does not seem to hold on to them. Even manchester city is going great in the fourth place. Well, I think it maybe difficult for them even to get top four this season, that is what I think.

I think Liverpool's recent performance shows that they are still not there when it comes to the big four!! They have not won anything against the top 4 since Rafa took over except for the win of Chelsea in the Champions League. Cheers! Ram

I think they started out well, but the goal just before the half time break was a sucker punch!! Cheers! Ram
