Are you a young person who is Gay? Have you come out to your friends or parents or are you afraid? How do you feel about the way society looks at gays? If you are not gay, and whatever your age, do you know people who are struggling with this and just don't know what to do? Do you think that a lot of young people commit suicide because they know they are gay, and are unable to deal with it? Do you think that it is ever possible for a gay person to become straight? What should society be doing?

Hi Mirita, Thank you for responding. Unfortunately gays are not accepted in our society, and have had to fight for every inch of human rights that they have managed to gain over the last 25-40 years. You and I have not had to do so. If heterosexuals experienced the hatred and harassment that gays have suffered, they would be more compassionate. I'm pleased that you feel that whatever anyone does with their lives is there own business, but unfortunately everyone is not like you. Blessings.

I am a straight female, but i know gay people from my youth. My great uncle spent 50 years with his lover in a time when he could have been imprisoned for his love. My uncle has been with his for over 30 years and he has risked losing his job for the relationship. My brother and his partner have been together for 9 years this March.
THe one that really strikes me is my ex husband. We were married for 2 years before he told me that he had been lying to me for all of our time together. Adn we had a son, who is also gay. I'm convinced it's genetics.
The point is that no person would choose to be hated for who they love

I know a lot of people who are still in hiding in the dark that he could not come out in the open. I pity then for they are not able to show their true self. I think gay people should be allowed to show who they really are and express what they want to do. I am not gay but I have high respects for those that are already gay.
