If you are LOADING or SAVING many FILES,PROGRAMS, OR DOCUMENTS in your computer and Playing VIDEOS or Video clips, Playing LAN/ONLINE GAMING, and Using many or different kinds of Applications/Softwares that requires a high specifications, I suggest you to UPGRADE the following: #1 MEMORY - You need to upgrade it to 512 MB RAM or 1GB or much higher much better. #2 HARD DISK - Upgrade it to 160GB. much better if you will use Hard disk SATA Cable because Hard disk with SATA Cable is faster than IDE cable. #3 3.0 GHRTZ INTEL PROCESSOR is good enough, but much higher, much better, specially Intel Processor P4 #4 If you are using ONBOARD VIDEO CARD only, try to use a VIDEO CARD-Dispaly adapter- So you can get a high or best quality of Graphics. # 5 ANTI VIRUS/SPYWARE, actually eventhough you have an anti virus, your PC is not yet protected from viruses. I suugest you to use DEEP FREEZE, it is an application that can protect your PC from viruses, hackers, and etc. that can be harmful to your computer. That was just my suggestions, but it still depends on how you use your computer. I hope it helps....

Actually the above person who opened the discussion asked it, He use his PC for normal works, that's why I gave my suggestions depends on how the person will use the PC. The specs of the PC still depends on the user, on how he use it- Is it for Normal works, For Gaming, or for Office???

I don't use Anit Virus and Spyware/Adaware because it will only makes my PC slower. I only used DeepFreee to protect my PC from Viruses, Hackers and unathorized use of my PC.

That is adequate but would benefit from an increase in ram. 500 MB would be good. Do you have adaware installed? Download it free and run it, you may have trackers, which will slow it down. Also install a firewall, Zonealarm is good. all the best urban

To be honest that pc is not sufficent for todays modern world. The RAM is particularly insufficent, the minimum you should have is 1gig of ram, almost four times what you have now.

i think 512 MB of ram is good enough. 1 G is too much but your pc will be much faster if you have one.

There are mang suggestions that I can give you in order to ensure that your computer run faster then what it currently is. I have noticed that you are only running at 256 MB of ram. This is not nearly good enough in order to get your computers full 3.0 ghrtz processor's full potential. I would suggest upgrading the amount of memory you have in your system to a full gig. Secondly what I would do, if that computer is not HT ready, I would suggest upgrading to an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, or a QUAD- 2.4 ghrtz would be plenty for it is like running two seperate processors together and at the same time. While you save up your money in order to purchase the upgrades, I would suggest that you use a program known as System Mechanics. It is an all around good program that can improve your systems performance 10 fold. I would also suggest that you use Windows Defender. This is a good program.

you definately need more ram...500 MB is enough to scrape by...i would go for 1 gig or more if you can afford it... if you have a lot of hard drive space available it will probably be okay...if not more than 10 gig open though start going through pictures/movies/music and get rid of them. also try uninstalling and deleting programs you don't need. if you are careful and willing to spend time, you can get rid of a lot of stuff by running msconfig (go to start menu, run program, and type in msconfig)...then go to the start up tab in the window that opens...you will need to look up each process online to make sure you are not deleting anything crucial...but this really helps...you'll be surprised how many viruses you have you didn't realize or thought were gone. good luck!!
