On the back of my tv their is an input for a computer. I have never thought of doing this before, but it is quite tempting to hook the tv to the computer instead of my monitor. I just can't imagine having a monitor that huge. Has anyone ever had the desire to do this? If so have you actually done it? Wow, technology today really amazes me.

This would be a good benefit if you are into watching movies and also everyone can watch. Thanks for your response, hope you have a good day posting.

my friend I had used this technology and I know why may be was not successful in doing this but text is not very readablewhen you who came your computer to the television set. I do have a very good graphic card and I know it is not the problem of the graphic card. But still when I might computer to the television set and watch movies it comes very clear. But the text is something which gives me the creeps. I feel that it is very good when you want to watch movies or for presentations but otherwise it is not a very good idea. If I am wrong to let me know so that I can rectify and enjoy the technology also. Thanks in advance

Yeah, it's the TV's fault. Televisions, especially older ones, can't support high resolutions and are horrible for displaying text. Text is actually more legible from a distance.

This makes sense because it would spread out the characters if the screen was large...breaking up the pixels or something like that.

A few years ago we had to do this when we left town for a hurricane. We had the correct video card to hook up the computer to the TV. It was a pain to configure the TV correctly for the PC. The quality of the picture was not that great either.

I bought my tv in 2005. I haven't tried it, and if it weren't for all of the wires and stuff I'd probably have done it already. Thanks for posting and have a great day!

I don't think I need such as luxury. My monitor is LCD anyway and my TV is not, so my computers' picture looks better.

It would be too much work for me to move my computer to the other room by time I disconnected and reconnected all of the wires anyway. Just thought it was interesting.

we have done it when we download a movie or tv show from itunes or other similar site...it works great on my newer laptop and ok from the older mac laptop... but on both computers it totally changes the screen resolution settings...it made my computer's view so big i couldn't even see anything on my laptop display!

Funny thing, mine is only a 17 inch monitor and I think sometimes I have to shrink the screen because the information is so spread out. I hope that is the reason and not that my eyes are getting bad. LOL Thanks for posting and have a good day!
