Do you check your friends list often?...Do you delete friends that are inactive?

Tonight I was thinking of some of the great discussions I have had on myLot..and wondering where those friends were these days. I began checking into their profiles and found that several have not even logged in for over 4 months!!! Some of them are people I would love to hear from...but probably won't...and my decision is needing to be made as to delete them or not...How do you handle it? Do you delete if they are inactive for a given amount of time? How long? Does it make you feel bad to delete them..What if they come back...I was away for a few months...I lost lots of friends during that time...How do you handle it? Would you go through and clean out all the inactive people?

Hi Rx4life, I used to but then I deleted someone and they were back the next day. I felt pretty stupid at that point. I havent been very active myself for quite a while and I wouldnt be surised to find out that a few have deleted me. I really havent worried about whos on my friends list in a long time. They really arent hurting anything being there and you never know when/if they will ever come back. Just my two cents anyways.

I have been thinking the same thing lately. I see that the first page at least of my friends have not been around for a while. I don't want to delete them because if they come back then I'd like to be able to chat with them. I was actually MIA for a couple months a while back and am glad none of them deleted me! I would like to clean it up a bit though. It's a tough decision...

It is tough..I've decided to leave the great posters in their places...and hope they come back someday...in the meantime..I'll follow a little more closely who actually seems interested in my posts and when they don't respond for a few months...I'll clean it up then :)

Hi rx! I check my friends list from time to time, but I feel bad about deleting anyone. However, I think if they haven't logged in for 6 or more months, and given no reason for not being here, then I would possibly delete them, depending on how active they have been in the past. Like someone said though, they are doing no harm just sitting there!
When you were away for a few months you told us beforehand why you wouldn't be here, so it's a shame that some of your friends deleted you; it's their loss, because they are now missing out on your excellent posts!

I've thought it all over and with the great help of myLotter's I am just going to leave them and await their return...I did go in and delete a couple that had never responded to any posts and havent' been logged on for over 9 months...but the ones that have had great past posts I just can't bring myself to delete...many of them I really miss and do hope that like me, they return someday and give me a shoutout!!! Hope this finds you ready for the holidays...I am in a panic...not ready...but I'm a pretty good last minute "sprinter"...LOL...

I never go through my friends lists to see who is active and who is not. Even if someone is inactive and I delete them, what purpose does it serve? Nothing really changes but a number. I just leave it alone. The only reason I would delete a friend is if they were really offensive or continuously sent me spam.

Good point..One of the reasons I embarked on this discussion was because a couple of friends were really only sending me their referral lists to join other sites...and that made me start thinking about all the inactives..but I'll just deal with them as totally separate issues!!! Thanks for the info!!

Well,I am newly come.I think I will have same problems just as you in the future.I just think if my fiends are not very many,I won't delete friends. If there are too many friends,it is really a problem,I think if he really leave mylot,I mean if he haven't been in mylot for several months,I will delete he,don't you agree?

I dont delete friends and I dont have time checking them out. I have not thought about this until I read this post of yours. Its ok with me actually, these inactive memebers who are my friends here on mylot are maybe busy and I will just leave them there I know they will not harm me anyway.

I don't often check my friends' list. I just make sure if anyone who wants to add me as his/her new friend, I will accept it immediately. I won't delete anybody from my list although they are not active at all. Perhaps one day they will show up. It is no need for me to delete them from the list.
