Well, truthfully speaking, yes, I WILL consider that to be too selfish. Now don't take this too harshly. You see, if everybody here started to think like you, we'll have a great pile of questions, all with zero responses. You have to give something to get something in return, isn't it? Personally, I like answering much more than questioning. I like it more when the person who had started the discussion responds to my answer (in a positive manner, of course! ). I like it very much if my answers help some people out even if in some small way. So do respond to questions also sometimes. Cheers.

It depends on what is your real motive. Is it because you want to gather other's opinion on a problem you are having, or you are just posting questions just for earning's sake? It is being selfish if you are just posting discussions just to attract responses and not really wanting their opinion...

I like responding to discussions more than starting them. I like looking for things I would like to respond to and seeing what others have to ask. I don't have to worry about going back to mark best reponse if I just respond and don't start them too. I start a few but not very many.

I'm trying to do both. I usually start a discussion if there's a subject that interests me that no one has brought up recently.

Well, I don't think its too selfish. We're all here to start and respond to discussions right? But personally, it kid of depends on my mood if I like to start one cos sometimes my discussions go unnoticed and it's more fun to respond instead.

Hmmm, could be. I am not sure about that? Do you like to start discussion because they are more profitable or you like the attention or both? I usually end up responding to different threads as I get interested in other peoples topics I guess. I have only started a few discussions and they didn't seem to generate very many responses.
