The whole Christmas season (including New Year) is my favorite holiday. It's a long celebration here in the Philippines, and people look forward to it each year.
This Christmas Eve, we will be having Christmas dinner at my mother-in-law's place. All my husband's siblings and their families will be there.
New Year's Eve will be my family's turn. We will be having New Year's dinner at my grandma's place. My father's siblings and their families will all be there.
What about you? Where will you be and what will you do to celebrate?

I know majority love the year end holidays (Christmas and New Year). I do too until one particular year. These are the holidays I now dread. I find it meaningless now to scurry from one place to another merry making and feasting. I prefer to work in the day and be home alone at night mulling over my life so far.

Oh, that's sad, whatever happened to make you feel that way? Anyhow, I guess we have our own ways of being happy and I hope you were happy on that day, however you chose to celebrate it.

Well, I guess they have different holidays in China. You do have Chinese New Year and you have a break for it, I guess. Here in the Philippines we celebrate Chinese New Year since we are overseas Chinese but it's not really an official holiday so we still have work.

Oh, we used to go up to Baguio after the New Year fireworks but that was a long long time ago. In fact the hotel we used to stay in got damaged by the earthquake and is no longer existing. I haven't been to Baguio in ages. I wonder if it's still as magical?
I hope you and your family will have a great time up there!

We will be at my brother's house for Christmas Eve dinner. It always so much fun to have all the kids around. My sister-in-law is a wonderful cook so we always look forward to the great meal served also. Christmas Day we are going a friend's house for dinner. This friend is one of the best cooks around town. She's a retired dietician and honestly serves the best food I have ever eaten. She knows what is healthy and that's exactly what she serves. The food isn't boring, just healthy and tasty. Not sure what we are doing New Year's Eve. We've been invited to attend a party at one of the local casinos but doubt we'll go. Just too crowded. Merry Christmas.

I think I used to like Christmas more before. THe past few years have been a bit hard specially during the holiday season, still it's one of my favorite times of the year.
This Christmas Eve we are going to stay with hubby's aunt and uncle. Their son is away and at least we will be there so they don't feel so alone. WE will probably sleep over in there and spend Christmas day as well. There won't be anyone else though. I"m afraid my husband's family is not great in the get together department - which might be a blessing since they're always upset at someone else anyways. His aunt and uncle are the best ones in the family and don't deserve to be alone.

When I was still an intern and later a resident doctor, I always had holidays when I had to stay in the hospital. I'm so glad I no longer have to.
I hope you'll be compensated for working during the holiday, though. :)
Have a great Christmas, even if you're at work!

I'll be here at home with my brother. This Christmas will be a lot different than the other Christmas cos my dad's not around anymore and my mom's in LA. Sad sad.
But my friend's making plans on taking me out for Christmas. i don't know. I'm not yet sure. In short, I still on't have a definite Christmas and even New Year's plan yet.

How nice of your friend! Anyway, for whatever it's worth, do enjoy the Season, even if it's just you and your brother. At least you still have each other.

i will be in church during christmas service. Having christmas day lunch with my hubby's immediate family.
Christmas is also my favourite holiday because it's the most meaningful public holiday to me because of my christian faith.
For new year's eve, it's traditional for me to celebrate with a group of friends. I feel that as i grow older, I am more comfortable with doing the same thing year after year. Somehow there's this sense of familiarity and comfort. So this group of friends and i usually get a nice hotel room over new year's eve and spend the night playing games and chatting.
There was one year where we had a great view of the fireworks exploding in the night sky. And it was fantastic because we were in a comfortable room instead of squashing with the crowds below.
Blessed Christmas.

At least you will be with them on New Year's!

I will be with my family. On Christmas maybe we will go out for lunch since we will have cooked already on Christmas Eve. Take in a movie or something relaxing for the whole family. On New Years, I will be at the house setting off fireworks for the kids. Only me, not them since it's dangerous. Happpy New Year and Merry Xmas advanced.

Christmas is my favorite holiday to. I set up the tree, which is real, on the day after thanksgiving. I also decorat the house inside and out with lights and garland. I go the the after thanksgiving sales and shop till christmas eve. Me and my hubby and kids stay home for christmas. We open a present christmas eve night and have a dinner that each of us helps make.
I wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year!
