How did you pay for college?

I lived at home and commuted to college. The last two summers I had a job on campus and got a free room so I'd stay there and work during the summers. I got some scholarships and grants. My mother paid the rest. My parents were divorced my father was retired and didn't give me a lot of money for college but he'd give me $20 here and there to help me out. I had summer jobs and those would be enough to pay for my books for the next semester and have some money to spend. I didn't work during the semester because I lived at home with my mother and she told me college was my job and she didn't want me to worry about working but just concentrate on school. I did not have to take out student loans. The grants and scholarships covered most and I'm glad my mother wasn't over burdened with paying a lot more.
