Do you often tell your parents that you love them?

I have a problem expressing my love to my father. He is not the loving type and he is a bit distant so he is not helping me. Even if I really want to show him my feelings, it's so hard..I usually prefer telling my mom how much I love her, since she is tender and likes hugs and kisses, which my father hates! How about you?

I have no problem telling my mom I love her. She's awesome.
I don't love my father, so there's really no problem there.

No, not always. I don't see why it's sad. It's not like getting rid of the bast@rd is going to kill me or detriment my life in anyway. I'm glad to be rid of him.

It was the opposite in my family. My Dad always showed effection to us kids and I always told him I loved him. My mother on the other hand never showed us any affection and we rarely got a hug or a kiss from her. Now that my Dad has passed away and my mother is in her 80's it's changed a lot. I'm always telling her I love her and showing her affection and she has become more affectionate also. I like her a lot better this way!
