The number in bracket denotes number of posts actually posted by you. Recently, mylot has started interest ranking...I hope you are not asking about that? How are you? Where were you all these days? You just disappeared from the scene...without any information? Have a great day! Deepak

Basically, you have a level in each interest you have. I'm assuming you happened to notice then in a discussion under "life" which is why you're asking about that one. It's a new feature on mylot. Basically that level tells you both how much you post under a category and how well rated your posts there are. Higher levels are better. My highest is 16 I think, I'm not exactly sure how high they go, but I don't think I've seen any higher than that. The other side to this is that on the interest category page you can see rankings as well, so you can see who the top posters for each category are. You can also see your ranking expressed as a fraction out of the total number of people with that interest if you mouse over the level... so it might say life level 10 and then you mouse over it and it'll tell you 564/23493 or whatever.
