Telecommuting, work at home

If you were able to telecommute, would you choose to work at home? Yes, I do/wanna.
I'm puzzled when I heard many U.S. worker who have the option of telecommuting, or have jobs conducive to the practice,but choose not to do so. Do you know "why"?

I always wanted to work out of the house. I even dreaded taking any vacation days to stay home. But after losing my job in Sept, and my son and his wife having a baby, in Sept, I have been lucky to bond with my grandson in a way I couldnt have done working full time. I am looking for full time work out of the home, but really am ready to put up with office gossip, office bs, etc....I dont miss that, I do miss the companionship and the work relations you create. I am working hard at trying to find something I can do at home and still make a living..

Yes, I would choose to work from home if I had a job with a telecommuting option. I currently earn money from home, but not through a telecommuting job, and I love it.
There's many reasons why someone would choose to work in an office rather than from home. Some people go to work just to get away from home. Others like the social structure of working in an office that you wouldn't get from being at home. Also, some people don't have an enviroment at home that's right for the work they do. I'm sure there's many more reasons, but those are some of the common ones that I've come across.

I would choose to work at home but primarily on the computer. Doubt that my eyes would allow me to work fulltime on my computer. I do some writing on hubpages.com when I have time but those are small articles which allow me to earn a few dollars each month.
