My family usually has prime rib for Christmas dinner. My son in-law loves my prime rib and requests it for dinner. Now with the price of beef being so high I was going to cook a turkey or a ham. My daughter oftered to buy the prime rib this year.
For Christmas dinner we will be having prime rib roast, mash potatoes, some type of vegetables, home made bread, and some type of soup to start with.
For dessert I think I will make a few pies and some ice cream. There is usually so much food during the halidays that I pack on the weight.
I was wondering what you have for traditional Christmas dinner.

I normally have a turkey dinner for Christmas like I do at Thanksgiving, but this year I thought I might be different. I was thinking to myself I haven't had a nice roast beef dinner in ages, so now thinking of having that, plus maybe something like potatoes au gratin, green bean almondine..if I have the funds might also get the fixings to make my homemade cranberry walnut bread for desert--it does have a LOT of ingredients but sure tastes fantastic!

The more the merrier. You are welcomed as long as you do not share your dinner with Petie, Abagail, and Sammy. They all think they need people food and I lost a little dog from pancreatits from eating people food.

Honestly, I fight it out all the time with the roomies about sharing people food with the animals!
I might give a tiny bit to Star, but that's the only way we ever get her to come close to us, the rest can just beg - except the roomies give them food!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Actually, I'm afraid I'm stuck in town, I have to work because Medicaid doesn't believe in holidays.

We are not sure what we are going to have this christmas for dinner. I sometimes change the menu. It depends upon what I can afford. If beef is affordable I may get a prime rib if not we may have ham.

This year, it,s the first year that we are not going to my mother-in-law house. My brother-in-law move to his own appartement so h decide he will receive us. I don,t now what we will eat for Christmas this year. But I like everything.
At my grand-mother house after, I know we will eat everything traditional like meat pie, turkey, etc. This year I will not be able to eat a lot of desert because of my pregnancy diabates, but I will eat more meat :P

My family always has ham with pineapple, scalloped and mashed potatoes, yams, corn and of course stuffing. My kids and I are not big turkey fans so we always have ham for all the big holidays. I always have lots of leftovers, but they don't last long.

I love left overs. I sometimes cook enough so we can have left overs so I do not have to cook everynight.

We always have ham for Christmas dinner. We usually serve green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and rolls as well. Dessert (if we can eat anymore!!!) is usually pie with whipped cream.

4. Chicken Roll... Ham...
5. Embutido... spring roll...
We wanted something new for this year...

Sounds great, I do not know what Buko pandan is nor Embutido are either. Sounds like a varied ethic group of people with the spring roll and the lasagna

I always make a pork roast stuffed with garlic and peepercorns wrapped in bacon, and surrounding the roast I place baby potatoes, onions and carrots. We also have gravy and some type of bread or rolls. Dessert changes evey year it seems.

My family hasn't had a Christmas dinner since my Dad passed away but this year my mother decided she wants to have us all over to her apartment. We decided since she's over 80 and not well that we are going to order a Ham dinner already made from one of our local grocery stores. This way nobody has to do anything and we can enjoy being together after so many years.

I think that is a great idea. I think you guys will all have a great time. I have heard that some of thoes dinners are great the only draw back to them is often times they are frozen. Be careful you check that everything is thawed out before trying to warm them up.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Looks like I will be putting on 10 pounds next week.
