It turns out that Denise, a cast-away on the last season of Survivor, lied on the season finale. She claimed that she came back from the show to find that she had been demoted from her job as lunch lady because she was too famous. The truth was that she had actually been PROMOTED, before heading to the show, and still had that job when she returned. How low can you get? Do you think less of her now???

So what would your source be that you know this?
I don't think less of her because I thought it was horrible that she was using this sob story in the finaly. I thought is was tacky of her to even bring it up whether it be true or not.
I don't believe that many jobs would be held for someone to go on survivor, so it was the risk that she took.
If it comes out that it was a lie, she should have to give that $50,000 back!

It was reported on the news here, and I went and found it on TMZ.com. Looks like she had Burnett donate the 50k to charity in her name.

That is just crappy! Why would she even say that? Doesn't make sense to me....I really didn't care for her anyways.

Had to have been the only lie she told all season. Ironic, isn't it? She also explained the reason for the hair, short in the front for being a lunch lady, long in the back so she could still be a woman to her husband. Well, if she was "demoted" to night janitor she could grow her hair out now, couldn't she? But she didn't indicate that she was going to do so. In fact she had a fresh hair cut on the finale.
I really don't care what happens to her now, just so long as she doesn't show up on another reality show like Rob and Ambuh, or Allison from Big Brother. And she sure as heck better not show up on Fans vs. Favourites.

I had really grown to like her, and this is extremely disturbing. I sure hope she doesn't end up on the Favorites show too!

I never cared for her anyways. I don't think any less of her because I never really thought much about her except that she whined alot. I can understand lying 'during' the game, but to lie "after" the game in unreal.

The big deal was that she lied outside of the game. She lied in the interviews after the game to garner support and sympathy. It was pretty low. Lieing in the game is one thing, it's another to lie to us after the game.

I didn't buy her story in the first place.
Famous Lunch lady = Everyone knows her = More people buy lunch to talk to her = Promotion! NOT demotion!
That's how I saw it.

I agree with you. Something didn't sound right, but I just assumed it meant the school was full of it. Guess it was Denise!

That is awful actually and I don't understand why she would do all that. She did not know that the producers would feel bad and give her 50k, so it wasn't like she did it for the money. I do think less of her, but overall I think there must have been something else going on in order for her to lie. I tried and tried and can't think of a good reason for her to make this up though.

Geeze. That is so sad. I saw the show where she tried to get votes by crying that she only made minimum wage etc. That is a sad way to get votes! EAch season I am disappointed and say I won't watch again, yet I end up watching!

Really?! Gee.. interesting to see what people do or say to get others pity and money. I am rather disappointed to hear that she lied. Oh well, then again, who are we to judge whether she has done the right or wrong thing, eh? It's a tv program afterall..

I, personally, think less of anyone who would even be on one of these shows.
