OnLine Surveys

I do not know if I am imagining things are not. But sometimes when I am taking online surveys, I feel as though I can go all the way through the entire survey and then they will tell me that I am not qualified for it. I start to feel like they do this to keep from having to pay me for it. I am thinking that I have successfully completed it and then I get a message that says, were sorry, but unfortunately you did not qualify for this particular survey. It leaves me wondering what else they could have possible asked me. Has this ever happened to you?

I've had that happen several times. After about 3 times on the same site, I contated them with this concern. I mentioned that this is rather suspicious since it happens often. They just said that they have no control over what the client accepts or not. I responded with , I understand that, but come on - 25 or so detailed questions and suddenly I don't fit in the group they are looking for? They basically repeated the same, but then gave me a buck to my account. Funny, it hasn't happened with this site since and I have gotten many surveys approved. moral of the story: Be a good complainer!

I am so glad that I started this discussion. I knew that I was not imagining things. This is so not fair. This is their way of tricking us into taking surveys for free.

This survey thing is mostly new for me. I have been with one site for a year, but never multiple sites. I hope to find the real ones soon. So I don't have to waste so much time anymore.

This is exactly what I am saying. The length of time that it takes to "sceen" for these surveys, is even to the time it takes to actually take one. I have already e-mailed this site and am waiting for a response from them. I have earned quite a bit already, but as soon as I make pay out, if I do, that will be it for me.

this has happened to me several times also.once i kicked up the biggest stink and i complained to liptons tea(that was who the survey was for) and told them this is what the survey company was doing.they did not realise and sent me the hughest wooden box filled with teas.so it is worth complaining,i think i did better with the tea that i got, rather than the $1 or $2 dollars the survey company was going to pay.cheers sue

Good for you for speaking up and getting results. I believe in doing the exact same thing. I have contacted the company and am waiting for their response. From that, I will decide what action to take next. Thank you for responding.

I hate that! It takes so much time to complete a survey just to not qualify at the end.

It's happened to me so many times that I've stopped taking these surveys! I just delete them as soon as I am notified. I'm tired of wasting my time and energy on the surveys!

I would love to do that with this site right now. But, I have invested a lot and earned a bit. So, I am waiting for payout to quit this particular survey site.

I have noticed that a lot of times also. You give 10 minutes worth of information and a lot of keys items and then they tell you to scram, because you don't quality. It is very frustrating because they get the info and we usually get nothing. I am ready to give up doing the surveys that don't pay anything or give you credit up front. If it is a contest, they still get all the information and we put in the time to give it to them and seldom do we win any contests. And I have my doubts about if some of these sites really do have any winners. I don't like to complain and it is my choice to do surveys or not. I think I am going on to other things more worth my time and effort.

I don't blame you. We all need to ban together and do something so that we are not all getting tricked into wasting our time.

Yes. I really experienced such problems when I have been into some online survey. I am from India and when I start taking up the online survey they dont ask anything about the country. I would be spending some 30 to 40 minutes and when I finish my survey I would be asked to give some personal information about me or the portal throws me saying that the IP address is out of area. I get frustrated such things and would strongly recommend if such things are questioned or verified in the initial stage.

You are right, it is not fair to wait to the end to ask where you are from. These sites think that they are so clever with their silly scams.

I find this is what happened to me and that is why I no longer do online surveys. The ones that do 'pay' do not exactly pay but enter you in contests, so I gather it is because they just want you to waste your time and they have already decided that only a limited people, usually their friends, will get paid for taking the survey. I find that is totally dishonest and that they really despise people who use their computers to make money and are not the owners of some big company.

Yes, it happens to me all the time and has really gotten me discouraged about these survey sites! It seems I'm not qualified for much of anything...lol...story of my life! It's frustrating when it says a survey will take you 8 to 10 minutes or whatever and you spend that much time only to be told "Sorry..." I'd love to know how many people they actually pay! Annie

I am surprised at the number of people who have responded to this post in less than twenty-four hours. I am also surprised that so far, everyone has the same story. It has happened to them also. There must be something we can do to put a stop to this. If someone could somehow post a list of the sites that do this and past it on to everyone one hear. We could warn our friends about the sites we have been to and this has happened. Maybe we could spread it around Mylot, as comments to our friends. I will get something going, probably tomorrow.

Yes, I know what you mean especially with one site that I would go to to do surveys. It kind of discrouraged me from doing any more because I hate to be disappointed. Then they give me like five to six surveys to do and after they exhausted it, they'll say, I'm sorry, but you did not fit the qualifications for this type of survey. I had one survey that was to pay me $300 for my answer, and I haven't heard squat from them yet.

The fact that they have determined that you do not qualify for the survey means that they have eliminated you as a possible customer or client. In a way, they still made use of the content you provided since you would have helped identify yourself as a non-target. In my opinion, you still deserve payment for those surveys.

But let's look at the bright side. At least they're giving you surveys to fill up. My survey site hasn't given me any except for the one the provided during registration, and it's been a while. And I don't think I was even paid for that. I'll have to check. Anyway, I'm planning to opt out since it's getting me nowhere.

I do online surveys for quite a few different sites. Most of the time this doesn't happen to me. If I don't qualify they tell me after a minute or two. Every once in awhile after I have been sitting there answering questions for ten minutes I get the same response, that I didn't qualify. That irritates me so much because I feel like I just wasted a bunch of time and that they were misleading. Fortunately it doesn't happen to me very much!

There is one survey company that always does that to me. I can't think of the name off the top of my head, but I know what you mean. It will be a really long survey and they just keep asking questions until all of a sudden they say you aren't qualified...but would you like to try a different survey (like I'll voluntarily go through that again)? So now if I know that the survey comes from them, I won't even attempt to do it.

Maybe I can help you out. Only if you are interested. I am with a survey site who has a whole slew of awards based on how many points you save up. Cash is an option. There are no referrals, so there is nothing for me to gain by telling you this. I say that because I don't want you to think I'm after something. : ) Anyway, I've been with them 2 years and have gotten a lot of stuff. It takes patience, but through this site I was able to get a couple Christmas presents for family that I wouldn't have been able to afford if I had to get them myself. Just let me know if you are interested and I'll PM you about it.

They have me kind of stuck in the middle. I am about $10.00 from payout and don't want to just throw away all the time that I have worked. So, I will try to stick around and see what happens. But, after this, I am finished with this site.

Argh it happens to me all the time but mostly its usually within the first few minutes of taking the survey. I hate the surveys that say you can earn $1-$3 and then you spend 20 minutes on it only to get $1 LOL and yet I was expecting more - oh well :)

I really dislike taking online surveys simply b/c I think they are way too nosy. They get into asking alot of personal questions and who knows how many other places they pass that information around to. MERRY CHRISTMAS!! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

That gets on my nerves! They should tell you that you don't qualify as soon as they know you don't qualify. I've sat for several lengthy surveys only to be told that either the quota was filled or I didn't qualify. It's a waste of my time, ya know? Don't invite me or even let me take the survey if the quota is filled or if I don't match the criteria. Grrrrrr!

Exactly. I thought that they asked us questions when we first joined to find out which ones we qualify for. What's the point of doing that, if they are just going to send all of them to us anyway?
