Abortion has been a controversial issue for several years. Abortion is the direct action of killing the unborn.
The Roman Catholic religion believes that life begins at conception. We feel that human life has a right to live, and abortion shouldn't be allowed to take that right away.
People have been trying to tackle this question for several years. The Catholic Church believes that life begins when a sperm and egg combine. They feel it becomes an unique and separate identity.
Human beings grow from zygote to embryo - embryo to fetus - fetus to infant - infant to child - child to adult. However, no matter what title or stage of life they might be, they are always human. No stage is more or less important than another.
Other religions and non practicing Catholics might believe life does not start until birth. Another theory is that human life begins not until there is brain activity in the unborn baby.
