What do you think of the programmes for children these days? Do you ever let your kids watch?
I love PBS, Its a Big, Big World = it teaches us that its a big world with room for everyone and all about nature. And of course Seseme Street. I remember the Electric Company from my toddler days and Captain Kangaroo. And when I was older, I used to watch Spiderman and Batman - the show not cartoon. What about you - what do you think - what do you let them watch - and what shows do you remember?

I haven't seen the last two, since he's only a baby but I have a friend who has Sponge Bob evertything. Maybe I should watch some of these shows before he does!

Honestly, I think most cartoons today are horrible. The only ones I can stand are Sesame Street, and maybe the Wiggles once in a while. I despise Baby Einsteins, and all of the other programs that are directed at very young children. My son doesn't even like them. Once or twice I have put the wiggles on for him and when it's over there's some other show that comes on, forget the name, and he gets up and starts playing. I'm glad, because there is some really bad stuff on. But like I said, I do still like Sesame Street- and Cookie Monster can eat all the cookies he wants.

Check out Its a Big Big World on PBS. It teaches accepting eachother as they are, about the enviroment and different animal species - even what thunder and lightening is and my son loves the songs.

I don't like the new television shows that are on nowadays - my kids are addicted to something called Yo Gabba Gabba. I remember Romper Room.

According to me,children should watch tv.we won't try to move away from tv.
nowadays there are somany good channels showing the general knowledges and about the nature.there are somany cartoon channells for their enjoyment.
we should allow them to watch the good one.

My kids like "Super Why". It is at least educational, I can't stand spongebob! I always loved Captain Kangaroo and Electric Company. We had a local one called Clubhouse 22 and I dreamed of being on the show. My girl scouts got on there once and I didn't get picked to open up one of the doors and see if there was a surprise, quite a disappointment.

I love "Super Why" too. Super heroes whose powers are reading and spelling and the like! Aww that's too bad about the Clubhouse 22 show - but you got on though - thats gotta be exciting in itself.

My kids watched all the Nick shows and a few on PBS. Barney was forbidden as an insult to a kid's intelligence.
