Microsoft says it happens every year around this time and we should all be aware of it but I think most of us are careful when it comes to opening up emails that are sent to us from unknown sources anyway. It comes in the form of a Christmas ecard saying it's from "a friend" or "family" and when it's opened it completely messes up the pc. I don't know about anyone else but I never open these things unless someone emails me telling me they sent me something which my friends and family usually do and I hope my friends are smart enough to do the same.
Have you heard about this latest virus? Do you open links sent to you without checking them first?

I never open ecards anymore because so many of them can contain viruses. I don't send them anymore either I don't want to be responsible for giving a friend or family member a computer virus. I just type them and email and tell them Merry Christmas in the email.

See, I knew my friends were smart where this is concerned! This seems to be the easiest way to get a virus these days.

No, ctry, I've learned through my favorite site about everything to do with computers that it is unwise to ever open attachments from email that is from an unknown source. My contacts on the internet are few, so I really don't have that problem. I had not heard of this virus, but it's always a good practice to avoid these types of things.

I don't do anything with emails unless I know the sender. It's just not worth the risk. I hadn't heard of the Christmas card one but it makes sense. This time of year people are more willing to open something like that so they're easy targets.

I have not heard of it, but I am glad you brought it up. I never open links that I don't know where they are from. I always keep an email that is virtually spam free - only for friends and family. And I keep one that I order things from and am thankful for filters!
