yes,I think so.travelling not only can help us relaxing and at the same time,we can see more beautiful prospects.therefore, people can be more open-minded.so ,if I have time and money,I will travel as many places as possible.

Not necessarily. Some people are more attuned to things or nature than people. I have known people who have went on long trips and came back raving about sunsets or art and didn't really get much interaction with other people. Some people are more introverted and some are more extroverted.

The experiences a person may have with people of a different culture may open them up a bit more. They may be more willing to accept different ideas and ways of living. At the very least traveling should teach people that their way of life is not the ONLY way of life.

To some extend yes since travels allow you to see thing first hand and you do not depend on news from the media solely to understand certain things that happen at some places that you have never been to before. AS you know, the media, especially, always like to make news or events bigger than it is for business purposes and not really for the sake of telling the whole truth to the people.

I think that I have gained knowledge of different cultures by traveling. I have seen Masai Mara tribe people in Kenya and I respect the way that they live their lives. Going to Jerusalem was an eye opening experience. I saw religion first hand, the Western Wall where the Jewish people prayed and the Dome of the Rock the holy place for the Muslims. I understood their feelings and problems. I went to the Red Sea and saw the swim wear acceptable side in Israel and the all body parts covered acceptable side in Jordan. Reading books about a country and its people gives me helpful hits about how to get on well with the local people. The Maldives is a collection of stunning looking palm fringed tropical island where tourists spend lots of money. I saw a different side to that for some of the poor local people. Then when I came home I read many of them live on less than $1 a day. Yet accommodation on a resort island can cost $70 and steeply upwards. Travel has opened my mind to the people in many different countries around the world.

Well, I don't think travelling itself opens a person's mind. It really depend on how receptive to new ideas and thoughts that person is. But of course, seeing more places and meeting more people might improve one's people skills and change their perception of things happening around them. Just how I feel..:-) Merry Christmas.
