I am Teddy and I thought you might like to know more about me. I started off living with Amber. She was nice enough at first but her little one was quite mean. He would grab me by my face and squeeze or pull me around. I had to be very aware of where he was! They all loved me and let me play all over. Then Amber started getting mad at me. I was not sure why, but each time I went potty she would yell at me, chase me around and smack my bottom. Then I went to live with a great lady named Sherrie. WOW! I liked it there. No body yelled at me or pulled me around by my face! I had a mommy and a daddy! I loved her kids! One Steve went away for awhile but I still had mom, dad and the daughter, Shyla. Live was good. AND I figured out that I have to go out the door to go potty. Mom taught me to know when and I taught her to know when too! Mom was very sad that Steve had to go away! Something about war and danger. I was scared for him! Then one day mom got a call. Steve was very sick. He was coming back but not here. Mom and Dad and Shyla had to go to him. I was SO lonely! Everyday someone came to take me out and feed me but I was still very lonely! After a few days Amber came and took me with her. I was so happy to be around people again! I thought it was going to be great! But I still missed my mommy so much! I heard Amber talking to mom and she said that mom would not be home for a long time. Steve was very sick and was going to lose his leg. Now I didn't know what that meant but I was very scared for Steve and wanted my mom to come home. Amber took me to lady who had a dog that freaked out when I got there. I tried to be nice but he was just scared! That lady took me to another lady I was still getting yelled at for the potty times and I could not figure it out. I HAD to go potty so why would they yell at me for it. I tried to hold it but can only hold it a little while. And when I tried to tell them I needed out, they ignored me! One day the lady came in with a little cage. It was so cool I liked to go in and lay down. It seems to make everyone happy when I went in and lay down! I liked making them happy! When it got dark out side I had to go potty again. I tried to hold it, I even tried smelling for a new place to go. I still got yelled at and then they put me in the cage thing. I really didn't mind to much cause I was very tired. When I woke up I could not get out. I had to potty again and didn't want to potty in my BED! Finally she let me out. I wined to tell her I had to potty but the little kid was trying to get me to play. I got put back in the cage when I couldn't hold it any longer. I got to hate that cage. I couldn't stand up or turn around. I was comfy the first night but felt trapped being in there all the time. I missed my mommy so much.I never potty-ied in my bed, but I couldn't help it when I got out of the cage, I had to go NOW! Every time I got out, i had to pee. I think a lot was the excitement of getting out. One day we went for a ride in the car. I wanted to go to my mom's but I was taken to a place that was VERY mean! They cut off all my long hair! They put these things on me that about blew me away and I was so cold! They even dipped me in some really smelly stuff that made me feel sick. When we got home the lady had this pretty new blanket on the sofa. It was so soft and smelled so good. I fell asleep on it as soon as we got home. When I woke up I could not get off the sofa and no one was around. I had to go so bad,I didn't want to go on the new blanket but no body came to my cries so I had to! Back in the cage. I took another trip the next day to the first lady that had me. She was at work and I had to stay in my cage in the bathroom. I heard her tell someone that Steve had to have a new heart and mom would not be coming back for a VERY long time so she could be with Steve until he was all better. I was SO sad! I cried and cried. The lady was so nice. She told me she would take me home but I scared her dog. I was so sad and so lonely. Then I heard her tell another person about a lady was suppose to come get me but changed her mind. I would have to sleep outside at her house so I didn't scare her dog and it was 20 degrees! I'd freeze! The other lady said she would take me until they found Jan. Well at least I could stay warm! When I met the lady she gave me lots of hugs and petted me just like mom did. I was scared when I got in her car. It was very big and I was afraid I was going back to that mean place. I was happy to see that that cage did not come with us. The lad said I was much to big for that little cage! Wow, I thought I was the only one to think so! When we got to the house I was relieved it was not the mean place. I meet two other dogs and a very scary thing called motorhead. Seem he is a cat. He scared me to death. Later that night I jumped up in the lap of this new lady and tried to tell her I wanted to lay in her lap. She petted me and It was just like mom use to. I looked up at her. I wanted to ask if I could stay there or if I was going somewhere else. I wanted to know where my mom was. I missed her so much. She told me everything was going to be alright. She told me she knew I missed my mom and just want to have a real home. Then she made me feel SO special. She told me I could stay there and did not have to go anywhere else! I HAD A REAL HOME. I was very scared to go potty, but when I did this lady was nice and just told me no. Then we went out side. I was only 6 months old and had seen a lot. I was ready to have a real home. My new mom loves me as much as my other mom did. I have learned that I have to go out the door to potty. When I do not make it, mom is very understanding. She says I am doing good for a 7 month old puppy that has been through so much. I am not sure what she means. I think it must be good though, she hugs me every time she says it! Sorry this is so long. I just want ed introduce myself. I see mom on here and wanted to do it too. It wasn't hard. I just did what she does. I will get a pretty picture of me and put it on here so you will know what I look like! Love, Teddy

Hmmmm - do you know of another doggie that likes to sneak onto the computer & hold onto a pen or pencil to peck at the keyboard keys with? How fast can you type? How long did it take to type all that out? Well, I hope this didn't happen to you, but just be careful. If the chair that you had your hind legs on has wheels, it can be dangerous if the chair ends up rolling back suddenly. Biggest of all, just don't slobber all over the keyboard, as I'm looking forwards to updates.

Hi Krazy! I have an update! My name has been changed to Rusty. Aunt royal said that should be my name 'cause I like to play in the red clay dirt! LOL She is so funny! But I like my new name. Mom says you have more than one name too, so it is okay that I have a new one! Did you have a good Christmas? I got a new name, a new jacket and a BUNCH of chew bones. I like this Christmas thing. I want it to come every day!

Oh and it took me a LONG time to type all that out. I had to take a break in the middle. I will be careful of the chair! I have a pillow that I steal from mom's bed and put in front of the wheels so they will not roll! LOL I do know gissi and gismo and Lizzie and Izzy is my sister. I love making all these friends on here! Can I count you as my friend too??

Awwww "Teddy" that is a very sweet story. I have a dog named Teddy too. My Teddy is a black lab, cocker spaniel mix. He looks like an undergrown black lab. His brother's name is Buddy, who is a miniature dachshund. Both of them also had a rough childhood. Buddy was found in a box of free puppies, and was one of the last to be picked. And poor Teddy, he went from home to home before he finally ended up at the local shelter. A very nice lady with a big heart finally took him in 4 years ago, but her heart is just so big that she took too many dogs for her to handle, and could only keep a few of them. Teddy understands though. He came to live with me in May, and he still gets to visit with his other mom on a regular basis. In the mean time he is spoiled rotten and is enjoying being a full-time inside dog, not just during bad weather. What kind of dog are you?

I bet Teddy and I would be such GREAT friends. And I just got a new name, Rusty, so we won't even get confused over who was being called. My sister is a doxie. Her name is Izzy. She comes to mylot some to. I am a poodle, and I am white.

This story made me cry. It is so sad. I know that it is life for so many dogs, but still.... Life is not always good for animals. I am very sensitive about dogs. Great story, Merry Christmas!

He is quite happy now and has a home for a long time to come. I was going to find him a home as we already had 2 inside and 2 outside, but I just couldn't bear to send him to ANOTHER home. Merry Christmas, pola.

Very sad story, it is horrible what some animals go thru. Last year we adopted a Westipoo named Dixon, he was rescued from a puppy mill with 57 other dogs and had a really rough life his first 2 yrs. He was so shy and timid and scared of everything, it broke my heart, I was suppose to foster him but fell in love with him and he started to trust me and I couldn't let him go to anyone else, so we adopted him and I'm really glad that we did, he is a true blessing to us.

I suppose what I was doing was fostering him. He had no where else to go. i did try to find the customer that was going to take him to begin with, but had no luck the first night. By the second day I had almost decided to keep him. When he began choosing to sleep with my daughter there was no question. He was home.

Why do people mistreat animals? Is it because they are a bit dense? When ever I have a new animal, my first priority is to be sure it is comfortable with me. Potty training starts immediately, more for the animals comfort than mine. I would suggest to people, if you don't know how to look after an animal, don't take it in. If you think you would like to own one, read about it first and make sure that you have a nice clean place for it to live and sleep, an understanding that animals need to be trained and treated with kindness and love and that at some stages they will cost you an amount of money for vets fees, so you need to be able to afford to feed them and look after their health. Animals also need love and affection and in most cases some exercise. I'm sure Teddy will be very happy.

He is a different dog than he was when he first got here. He is a lot less scared and timid. He can even walk my the kitty without yelping like he had been attacked. His name is now Rusty due to his playing in the red mud/dirt. LOL He seems to be reddish more than white. I give him a bath when he get too bad, but i know I can't do it daily and dry his little skin out. I try to do it once a week or so, unless he just gets to bad. I bet you have some happy pets, you seem to care a lot about animals!

Rusty sounds like he is doing just great. I get comments about how I spoil my animals but to me I just love them. I feed them, play with them, walk with them and talk to them. I give them cuddles. I don't fuss over them or give in to their demands always but I admit when Banjo wants to go out at night, I sometimes let him even though I know he is hunting. for a playmate. They are my best mates and I'd be lost without them.

Teddy, it is very nice to meet you. It sounds like you really are doing great for a 7 month old puppy that has been through so much. So you listen to that new mommy of yours and take advantage of all that praise. You deserve it! I volunteer for some rescue groups in Arizona, and stories like yours are the ones that drive me to do what I do. I'm glad you have found a loving home. Happy Holidays!
