Some of us here prefer 'texting' to calling. We become so good and fast in 'texting' that we can even close our eyes to Text. LOL
I actually prefer calling to 'texting'. I think talking to a person over a phone is a faster and more effective way of communication. Despite that, there are times when you have no choice but to text a friend regarding something. Personally, I think I am a fast Texter. I've been 'texting' everyday over the past few years. I can 'text' and send out a message in less than a minute.
How about you? Do you think you are a fast Texter? How fast can you text?
Anyway, Merry Christmas! Have a Blessed and Joyous one! =D
God bless you!!

I prefer calling. More direct and you can sense the voice of the one your calling if they're sure with what they are saying of hesitating which grants them more time to think over when replying through text.
However, when I text, I always type correct words and don't abbreviate them. Brevity in messages.

I mean, if its something serious, they should call about it instead of prolonging the discussion with text messages.
And I just don't get it when they shorten the words even though there are still spaces left that could have been used to type the correct words.
Anyway, if its for quicker means of communicating or fitting long discussions on a single message, I just couldn't abbreviate the words I use.

Indeed texting is cheaper method.. But that can be limited to the friends only and not to everyone. And if there is any important discussion to be made, then its always better to talk and understand the scenario, and this makes talking more cheaper than texting.

What I like about texting is that you can reply at your convenience. No one is disturbed at a bad time. Unlike calling, which requires the attention of the person being called at that very moment.

I think I am a pretty fast texter.
Just as I can type on a keyboard with my eyes closed, I can text with my eyes closed too. And, I am text with both hands and many fingers "at the same time".
So I think I am rather fast but I naturally pale in comparison to those champion texters at those piranha contests.

yes i think i am a fast texter. especially with T9 or the dictionary function. and yes i can text with my eyes closed. but typing is still much faster and i can definitely type with my eyes closed or looking else where or carrying out a simple conversation with someone else and still type on!
I think texting is useful when you need to communicate discreetly , for instance during a meeting or a movie.

I am for sure faster than an average one. BUt not reeally that fast. I usually send short messages. If it's long, I'd rather call the person. That is why it is fast.

Hi,there! Well, frankly speaking,I like both. But maybe for different people and at different situation,we choose different ways:) I can type somehow very fast with my last cell phone. With my current new one,I'm not that fast but not bad either. When it's the holiday time,I'll type the messages to send my best regards to some friends. While with some classmates or close friends,I may call them more often instead of typing short messages.I can't send out a message in less than a minute right now. That's really fast, huh? Maybe in two or three mins,I can send a long message out:)Thanks for the discussion and Merry Christmas^_^

Which mobile phone do you like best for texting? I am fine with most mobile phones except Motorola. I do not like to use Motorola for texting. I think it's user unfriendly. As for the other brands of mobile phones, I am fine with them. =)
Merry Christmas!! =D

If you asked me how fast, I don't know how to answer it coz I don't really count how much time I spend to write a certain text. But if it's between fast or slow, I guess I'm really fast, I even can write my text without seeing my cellphone screen. Maybe that's becoz I'm choosing texting over calling. Especially to my boyfriend, it's more personal. And sometimes with texting people can say things that might sounds funny or even heavy with less pressure on it. I don't know with other people but honestly sometimes I feel so much easier to say something in text, especially romantic things. Texting help me a lot on that. LOL

I don't like texting English message. The length of an English text message is 180 letters here in China. I'd rather type Chinese message, for I can be very descriptive in 180 Chinese characters. By the way, Chinese is easier to type on mobiles than English. But when using computer, I'd rather use English for it's easier to type English then.

oh you bet i'm a fast texter. i can even type with my eyes closed. LOL its really helpful when i'm sleepy and i want to close my eyes but still want to text. ^__^;; i don't know how many texts i can do within a single minute but i know i'm fast. ^__^
texting and calling both has advantages of their own. calling is easier because you just have to dial the number and talk. and then you can hear the voice of the person you are talking to and somehow you can tell the emotions. with texting, you can chose to reply or not and pretend that your cellphone was off. LOL its cheaper than a call and you can hide your emotions and everything. ^__^;;
Merry Christmas to you too!

Texting.... I dont like texting. I prefer to call anyone if at all I have to give any message or wish or rather communicate. When you are talking to a person, the person gets to know your mood and vice versa. This way there is a clear picture of a person who is contacting you or whom you are contacting.
Moreover I'm the slowest texted, always searching for the right keys for texting and apart from that I dont remember the short forms of any particular word at that moment and this makes me the slowest texter.

You are right. Calling has more advantages.
I do not dislike texting. It's sometimes more convenient to text than to call. For example, during a lecture or meeting when you can't talk on the phone but you want to talk to your friends, you can actually text! =P

Yes,I'm a fast texter, too.I prefer to make telephone calls,I think it's convenient. But in many conditions you can't make a call, such as in a class,in a metting, and so on.The disadvantages is also obvious,it takes a lot of time, and I think it also not good for your eyes.so when you use a phone to send messages, you'd better take these into account.
