First I have to say that you are a genius. If I weren't left-handed, I obviously wouldn't be responding to this discussion! My dad and I are both the only lefties in our immediate family, which leads me to an interesting fact that you'd probably like to know if you don't already. Did you know that if neither of your parents are left-handed, you only have a 1 percent chance of being a lefty? If one of your parents are left-handed, you still only have a 17 percent chance of being left-handed. And if both of your parents are left-handed, you'd still only have a 50 percent chance of being left-handed! This fact is interesting in how it relates to my family in particular because I'm the second of six children and my dad is a leftie. The statistics are correct because if you multiply six kids by 17 percent, it's a little over 100 percent. Pretty cool, huh? Thanks for another great discussion. I hope I inspired you! Keep up the great work, my friend.

Yes, left is the best so chuck out the rest!!!
(Sorry i had too!!)
I'm not the only lefty in my family i also have a sister and mum who are fellow lefties.
Having the house split up into exactly 3 lefties and 3 rights this made it easy when deciding on teams for games, and guess who always WON!!!!
So to all you my fellow lefties, keep going strong, we might be able to take over one day!!

I don't know how many people are left handed, but I am one of those people! :)
I didn't actually start off this way. I had preferred to use my right hand. That is until I came down with spinal meningitis and went into a coma. Once I recovered I had switched to my left hand. I also knew a girl who's niece switched after she came down with cancer. I told the girl my story and she relayed it to her niece. As her niece was only 3 years old at the time it helped her know she wasn't alone with this and she ended up thinking it was pretty cool! :)

Both my husband and I are left handed. Both of our boys are righties though. My husband is the only one in his family who is left handed. My brother and my sister are too. My mother was born left handed, but my grandmother thought that was "evil", so she made her use only her right hand. I use my left hand for most things, but I do use scissors with my right and do sports, such as batting and hockey, right handed. Go figure!

My brother and I used to be left-handed as a child, but my mother switched both of us. I still do some things better with my left hand, but I also do a lot of things worse than people who were born right-handed. My handwriting is terrible, I'm awful at drawing, things like that.
A guy I used to date was left-handed, too. He loved the fact that Link was, too (from Legend Of Zelda). It made him feel happy to play a video game character that was left-handed like him. ^_^
