earlier me and my cousins went to the cemetery to visit my grandmother's grave. it is our first christmas without her. as a grandmother she is thoughtful to all of us. she never forget to give us gifts every christmas and on our birthdays. we miss her, but we know that she is happy now.

I don't miss anyone..The person at the center of this celebration is Jesus and if we have Him..this is all we really need..This is what I am coming to learn.

I received a card from a relative that was touching -
it is a kind of holy card - and was in the person of the deceased -
the little poem ended with "I'm spending Christmas with Jesus, this year"
I wanted to type it out here for you to read but ACK! it is not where I thought I had put it. :(
though, you are correct about the celebration of Our Lord, but as with any joyeous event it is a wonderful blessing and longing to share especially with loved ones... don't you think? I will be going to Holy Mass today (Friday) and will be spending special time, again, with my Lord at the Altar. Such an incredible gift He has given us.

This year... I miss my cousin. He hasn't passed, but he's in jail for missing a hearing. I usually get a phone call from him every Christmas and it was a little depressing when I didn't get one today.

It doesn't work that way, unfortunately. He's 7 hours away from me.

This is my first Christmas without my youngest son, Gaje. He was six when he was killed on May 19 of this year. I miss him very much.
Each Christmas, my husband and I would give gifts from the kids to each other. I would usually buy him a shirt or sweater with his favorite football team on it and he would always buy me this bathroom set that has lotion, body spray, and other things in it that is only available around Christmas because it is a Christmas special addition.
Each Christmas, he would have our youngest son to present it to me and I would have our oldest daughter to give his to him. This year was different though, Gaje wasn't there to give me my gift.
We all went down to the cemetery and decorated it for Christmas and made it look pretty. I miss him and wish that he was here. I use to be a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, but now I am not sure of this.
The holidays have been very hard this year and I am glad that they are almost over with. I celebrated his seventh birthday at the cemetery and it was one of the hardest things that I have had to do.
I will keep each of you in my thoughts.

for me its my aunt and uncle who already passed away. me and my siblings fondly call them "nanay" (mother) and "tatay" (father) because they are the ones who took care of us when my mother was in the office working (she's a single parent). its almost 5 years since they passed away and we miss them everytime there is an occasion. ^__^

I am sorry for your loss. It is difficult to adjust to the absence of a dearly loved one. This Christmas it is my precious father whom I miss the most. He passed away a couple months ago, unexpectedly. I am still grieving for him the loss is agonizing at times.

I really do not miss those in my life that have passed over because they are so strongly connected to me from another realm, but a physical presence hug is missed from them and eventually a sense of being in their arms will dissipate the need to feel a flesh-to-flesh sensation instead of the spiritual rvelation their essence is showing through me . . .
sharing the light and happy holidays,

I miss my grandmother also, my dad's mom. She past away in May 2007. Last Christmas, my grandparents were both with us. It was really hard and strange, but I know she's in a better place now. I know she definitely had the best Christmas ever this year!
I also missed my brother. He's still alive, but he was away in Arkansas with his girlfriend for Christmas. He's the only boy in my family with five girls and sisters, so it was really strange without him. It's just like there's an empty spot there that you know someone once filled. Do you ever feel that way during the holidays? I suppose that proves how important family is during special events like that.
I'm very much looking forward to visiting with my brother and his girlfriend for New Year's 2008, though! And I know I will see my grandma again sometime very soon. Great discussion. Thanks!

I miss my Grandparents too but they are still here. They just live far away and we cant get to see them very often. Life could end at any moment and we should really find the time before it is to late. I really miss them all the time.

I terribly miss my huhsband who works away from us. There is this only one particular Christmas that he spend with us. The rest, he was away. But I do understand because he is working hard for us. Especially for the future of our kids.
