It is expected that there are definitely some ways to beat high blood pressure without drugs.
Researchers at Johns Hopkins and three other institutions studied 810 adults with "above optimal" blood pressure (defined as 120/80 to 159/95) and found that after six months, those counseled on weight loss, exercise, and eating a low-salt, low-fat diet high in friuts and vegetables lost about 13 pounds, ate three additional servings of fruits and vegetables daily and became more fit. Plus, 35% of them dropped into the "optimal" category. That is impressive, considering that for some people these changes slashed blood pressure by amounts similar to what's achieved with hypetension drugs.
