What was your Christmas dinner meal? are there certain foods that tend to be a Tradition for your family on this Holiday? We enjoyed a Roast Beast with sweet potato, hashbrown potato casserole, fresh steamed broccoli with cheese sauce, yeast rolls and cran/raspberry sauce.
dessert was deep dish apple pie with whipped topping.
We do usually have a Roast Beef for Christmas and most often our special holiday meals include the hashbrown casserole, it lends itself to so many dishes.
I would like to try a goose some time but we have yet to raise one to slaughtering age.

turkey, with all the trimmings and about 4 pies.
if i made anything else,i'd get lynched.
they're pretty set in their ways about dinner.
i suggested a ham one year, and was told that was EASTER dinner..only..

that's funny!
we don't usually do the turkey as it seems we just got done eating the leftovers from Thanksgiving and also for a little variety...
we generally do a beef dinner - prime rib or another nice roast.
Easter time we do the ham or lamb...
Maybe this year I will give a go at duck, I've only had it once (when I was a child) and it was awful greasy... that could be the way it was cooked or the variety of duck, maybe a nice muscovie won't be so greasy.

try putting some of that "texas toast" type bread in the bottom of the pan if you do cook duck-it absorbs some of the grease.
i've had a few turkeys that were greasy like that too,but duck seems to be the worst.
