is there any truth in astrology- can you prove!!!!!

Apsara, my answer may perhaps disappoint you. I do not pay much attention to these kind of predictions. I find they do not come out true most of the time for me. They are very vague and general in nature eg. your time is going to good. ...but nowhere it is defined what can be 'good' for any body. Another example is you may suffer an ailment....now a days...getting ill is too common and frequent and it you relate your illness with such kind of predictions you will more disheartened and down. I try not to read such predictions and if I read...I try not to remember them or take them to my heart. Whatever has to happen ..has to happen in our life...the thing is we should fulfill our duties and responsibilities sincerily and honestly.

HI Apsara Perhaps my response is very late, but God has clearly forbidden us from consulting these horoscopes. Though they may be correct or incorrect it is a SIN in GOD'S sight to consult Horoscopes or any form of consulting about our future. This was introduced to human by the fallen angels in the ancient days. When we have God with us why should we bother about future!!

If I could prove it, I would not have been participating in your discussion nor I would have been in mylot. I would have opened a multinational company, forecasting the details for each international client, billing them in thousands of dollars. I do not believe in these theoretical predictions which have no practical application. But my wife is very fond of astrology, horoscope reading and she has unfailing faith in it. In fact each time we plan a visit to her parents place which is 400 kms from Bangalore city, she plants visit to several places on the way where there are so called famous astrologers. She spends couple of hundred notes and listen to their interpretation of our future life. When something good or bad happens, she narrates it to the utterances of these astrologers. It is foolish on my part to educate her in these lines, because If I do, I will have to forego my peace. Let her believe in what she feels right. There are top politicians and topi film starts in this country who promptly go the astrologers before launching any ambitious program.

I am a very rational person.I just don't believe anything that easily.But I am made to believe astrology because each and every prediction has become 100% in my life.

astrology is a science. so it is real. But not the ones u see in the newspapers and all those. It has to be done on a one to one basis. It cannot be generalized.

Thanks for starting a great discussion. I don't think there is any truth in astrology. I know there are people who believe in astrology. All I can say about them is that they are superstitious.

Well, to say the truth - anything has an impact on our lives. To say that every position of every constelation decided by men to be important for this and that... well... sounds like @#$ to me. But... one can never tell. I believe that every movement of the sands, water and every molecule has an impact on our lives. But to claim you understand that and interpretate is seems like a bluff to me...

There is hardly any truth in it, virtually nothing, to say so. One in hundred of what they say comes true, and that may all likely be a case of co-incidence. This reminds me of 2006 FIFA world cup, during which Brazil were the favourites to win it, being the defending champions and having a strong side. Before the start of the world cup, all the famous astrologers over India predicted that Brazil will win it this time also and gave their respective interpretations for it to take place. What happened later on was a entirely different story, Brazil didn't even qualify for the semi-finals and the less expected Italy won it eventually. That says it all. I do not believe in astrology. You control your own destiny. It is not controlled by the stars. It is good that you are puzzled then maybe you will stop dabbling in something that is not good for you. The Torah tells you not to do this does it not? hi im one like u who like to see predictions everyday. i sincerely belive in vedic astrology since my life is going similar to its predictions. after class 10th i was advised not to leave hometown for studies at least for next two yearsas i would not be successfull then. but since i was qualified for a prestigious intitute outside my hometown, i went to study there. inspite of being a academically good student, i could not concentrate on studies there and returned after three months.on returning i had to face derogatory remarks of my friends. it happend as was predicted

I am sorry I dont a real life story about astrology, but frankly speaking, for everything you give belief, it comes to pass, belief or faith moves this world, and with faith, even mountains can change positions-that applies to astrology my dear friend apsara60!!

Hi!:) Horoscopes can only take into account your "sun sign", which is the zodiac sign the sun was in when you were born into the world. But there are ten other positions which influence things... where the moon was.. and where the planets were - mercury, venus, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune, and pluto(whether consided currently as a planet or comet.. and also the sign the horizon was in when you were born (called your 'rising sign') - also influencing are the relationships between the sun, moon, all the planets and (your) rising sign. - I've been studying astrology for about 30 years. I'll give you an example... but first just a little info on how astrology works.. it's like a clock(&map) only this clock has three faces.. [the 1st] 12 divisions called houses, [the 2nd] the zodiac signs, and for use in forecasts [the 3rd] one's own birth chart (i.e. the zodiac and sun, moon and planet positions at the time of birth.. the first face, the houses, never moves. The second face, the signs, turn once each day, clockwise. - The hands of this clock are the sun, moon and planets, they move counterclockwise, each at their own speed. - At the time I was born (which is to say, on my birth chart) there was two conjunctions (pairs) of planets. Think of the astrology wheel/chart as a compass.. at The South position on my chart is jupiter and uranus (in the house of "home"), and at the west position is the moon and neptune (in the house of partnerships and marriage).. I grew up in new england, usa, and one of the larger changes in my life is when I traveled to the midwest, usa, met my husband and stayed. At this precise time, the slower moving planet (from my house of "home") had moved up (from it's south position) and was exactly at the same degree as my second conjunction at the western horizon, in my house of "marriage" (there's 30 degrees to each sign). This is just one astrology co-incidence I have found in my own astrology. - Well, I do suppose I have gone on about this long enough:) I have horoscopes on my website, which I think are kind of handy, especially if someone knows their moon sign and rising sign (then they can read the horoscope for those three (sun, moon, rising sign/ascendant). most of the avid believers of the Astrology are the Roman Catholics because the faith is not that much solid.... whereas, Astrology is strictly forbidden in the 1st Commandment of God.... only God has the power to defies the law of nature... and no one else... not even the fortune tellers.... not even the astrologists..... those fortune tellers who as the power to predict future using Astrology as a medium is an Anti-God or Anti-Christ.... only God has the power and no one else....
