I can't give you specific suggestions since I'm not a proffessional health care practitioner. Even if I were, I would need to examine you, probably take some diabetes related tests before I could even begin to suggest a remedy. The only thing I can do is to give you general information. Did you ever consider natural medicines, ie herbs, nutritional supplements. My endo told me to take at least 200 mgs of the mineral chromium. aka Glucose Tolerance Factor. Of course just because it works for me is no guarantee it will for you. But hey, unless its containdicated to you, it may be worth a try. Its certainly cheap enough Gynema, cinnamon and fenegreek are all herbs that are helpful in lowering blood sugar. To be on the safe side I'd check with your doctor. I'm just hoping he or she is open minded on complementary medicine. Not telling you to give up your prescriptions. Not in the position to do that. Good luck in finding something that's effective for you.

Sorry for the error in posting twice. I'm rusty at this as you probably noticed. BTW I too suffer from depression and diabetes. The depression came first. Plus I was diagnosed with chronic Hashimoto thyroiditis by the same endo whose monitoring my type2diabetes.

It is very sad to hear this. I suggest that you do lot of brisk walking atleast for a minimum period of 30 minutes initially. Slowly try to increase it and try to make it for 1 hour. Brisk walking enables sweating which will automatically bring down the sugar level in the body. Even Gourd (vegetable) juice will help in bringing down the sugar. I hope you recover fast. The Lord will definately help you.

I would imagine you have done a lot of research on this but if you haven't found it a great source is at the following link. http://www.diabetes.org/type-2-diabetes/treatment-conditions.jsp I do not have diabetes, however I have lived with it for a good part of my life. My first wife and son developed it and my second wife developed it. All were type one however so were insulin dependent. An example of why it is so important for you to get this under control would be the example I have lived with. My son developed it at age 8...his mother..my first wife developed it when she was about 41. She was so tenacious in doing all the right things that for the most part both kept in pretty good control. As much as can be expected. My second wife however developed it at 41 also did not understand what could happen. So she was hap hazard about how she handled it. Her first clue that this was not right was when she did not see something in front of her and fell breaking a bone in her leg. She broke several before I met her. Even after I met her she still didn't really do all the right things. The doctors not longer gave her advice. Last October she passed away from a heart attach. And that was only one of her organs that were compromised. She was 63. My first wife is 64 and doing fine except for arthritis. My son is 36 and doing well. There are people that are called brittle diabetics. Very hard to control even when doing everything right. You may be one but your lifestyle may be the problem too. You went off these medications. Why? And did you replace them with something? Depression can cause you to not do what you should to maintain control. Are you on any kind of insulin? If not are you following the recommended diet? Your only option is to follow your doctors orders. If he/she is not an expert on diabetes, find one and have them help you. You must understand that this is a very serious problem but unlike others it is treatable. You can feel better but only if you do the right things. And NO it ain’t easy! But it can be done.

I am sorry fot this. I am type 1 diabetic, so I use insulina everytime I am starting eating. It is simple, but quite boring. I suggest you not to have a lot of pills and to do more sports. bye

I know exactly how you feel. I suffer from the same malady. You have not told us your age. What I would suggest is that you ask your personal doctor to send you to a DIABETIC specialist. I have recently been to one and she got me to monitor the blood daily. At the end of the week , she finds that I am only borderline between 5.4 and 7.9 This has put my mind at rest. Watch out the diet. Try to walk and exercise, I know it is hard to walk. Good luck.

The best thing I can tell you is get a diet you can live with and stick to it no matter what. Not one that says you have to do without the foods you love, but one that will keep your blood sugar at a normal level. Heck, I eat pizza, potato chips, rice and pasta. But not the kind everyone else eats I have to make my own. Then start doing some exercise. It's much easier when done with a friend. Call a friend and go on a nature walk. Or just go sight seeing, anything that will give you a change of scenery and something to look forward to doing every day. We sometimes go downtown and do window shopping. Hey, it don't cost to look and we get lots of ideas from window dressings. Get busy with some kind of hobby that takes your mind off of being depressed. Who knows you may come up with something so good you can make money from it on eBay. Recently I saw a styro-foam ball covered with those pretty colored rocks you can buy in the dollar store for a dollar and it was selling for $5. When I asked the woman about it she said she sometimes sold more than 4 dozen a day. She sold them 1 for $5, 2 for $8, 3 for$10 all the way up to a dozen. Her children glue the rocks on after she paints the balls. I'm thinking about trying them too. Makes beautiful ornaments. Ooops got carried away there for a while. LOL Here is a place where you can get some good recipes for diabetics. http://low-carb-diabetic-recipes.blogspot.com here is a place that will help you understand more about diabetes and how you can control it. http://living-with-type-2-diabetes.blogspot.com Hope this helps Wishing you a very happy and healthy New Year.
