every month, I delete some 50 to 75 friends from the list on the following grounds:
1. They pump in only discussion topics and are not bothered to respond
2. those who are not active at all. I donot see any activity by them for months.
3. As you said they might have left mylot.
I love to retain only active friends.

I am not here to boast of statistical figure of having four figure no. of friends. In the first case why one wants friendship?
1. You respond to them and they can respond yours
2. You can discuss something related to the forum and vice versa
3. Exchange of PM
And definitely not applying for friendship and never bother even to post a single post, nor reply anybody's post. They are not seen here. It is so difficult for me to search for my friend's posts to reciprocate, but it will be in lot with most undesirables. Hence this decision. I have more than 75 friends. They keep discussing and I participate, it is more or less every meaningful.
Glad you decided not to apply for friends. Mind you I never applied for friendship here to anyone. Thank god you saved me from work of getting rid.

Not yet.I really don't want to take them off my friends list, unless they left mylot for more than three or four months.Usually I won't take them off.I won't be mad for them,I think the if you are friendly to them, they will do too.I don't that there are people want to make somebody get mad,it is very useless for both of them,at I know that people at mylot are both friendly, they want to discuss what they thought, and I really trust that mylot will give us a perfect place to discuss and make friends, and I can improve my english here, haha,I love mylot very very much.

I've removed only two people... (for reasons) and a few because they're inactive.
I generally only do it for good reasons, I hate recieving "pms" telling I'm not doing enough or I'm faking etc. or the classic "please join this site"... well I'm already busy, so... sorry, i can't but thanks for making me feel bad about it!
Those are the only reasons.
~Joey
P.s Some have dropped me for reasons unknown, I know one thought "I was inactive" and another was leaving. I don't re-accept people though, unless they re-join under a new username. (example suzy.. aka cremechase)

If they abuse the messaging system and start spamming me, I will then delete them from my friends list. That is just wrong to do to people. If I know for sure that they have left mylot and have no intention of returning, I might delete them.

I haven't had too many spammers on my friends list so far. I think that's because before i except their request, i tend to look at their profile page first and see what kind of discussions that they have started and what kind they have responded too. That has helped me sift through some riff raff. ;)

The only time I delte someone from my friends list is if they send me a private message to join this or that site that really makes me mad. I will not join any program if someone sends me a private message to it unless I have asked them to send me something.

Thats a really good reason not to keep someone as a friend, They could at least ASK you first if you would like hear about the site or if you were interested inthe type of site that they would like to send you a link to !
I have removed onefriend because they were complaining thing i asked them if they wanted to join a game with me. But the reason i asked was because i think there ar a few people around that i HAD on myfriends list when i was here last timethat must have removed me,probably cause i was inactive :P

I think I took one person off. They turned out to be a spammer. Other then that I haven't taken anyone off and usually accept any and all requests. It's justa list of names of people I don't know, will never know and never hear from.

So far I have never deleted anyone from my friends list I know some of my friends whave not been on for months but I didn't delete them there was a time I took 4 months off. I was really busy working nights and not able to respond at that point I hardly had family time I was working 12 hour days at night. Now I have been on almost like this was a new religion and I was drinking from the cup of life.LOL!! Sorry about the religion analogy. I also noticed that I try to respond to every one but sometime it's not that easy like especially if they have a topic that I just can't contribute to because I know nothing about it. I do try though sometime it's just really hard. I think the only way I would delete a friend is if they weren't on for over a yr because just about then I would assume they are coming back online. Thanks for the great discussion have a nice night.
