She nursed me, treated me when I was sick, rocked me with love, when I cried she would cry along with me,wiping both my tears and her own, she mentored me to fit into a hard world full of jealousy, hate and intrigue, she restrained my negative instincts, taught me to fear God and love my neighbor-that lovely woman is my Mama, I will never ever forget her-the day i do, will know am either senile or mentally insane or seriously diseased or all of the above!May her soul rest in eternal peace-Mama passed away last February!

When I was a teenager and I first moved to Alabama with my parents, some of the people that just left an impression on me was these senior ladies at church who would sit and talk to you. One of them made a deep impression on my life. Her name was Helen Williams. She had a daughter at church who did very well for herself working for the civilian government. Anyhow, she would talk to me and tell me that if I have a baby wait until I marry and that she didn't have a baby until she was 27 years old. I find that surprising because ladies in Alabama tend to start at young ages, but she told me that this was the case with her and you know, I didn't have my first daughter till one week after I reached 27. I never forgot her talking to me.

The one face that comes to my mind is my grandfathers.I would never forget him as he is the one who taught me basic things in life.He passed away when I was 14.But the things he taught still is in my mind. The days when he took to a nearby pool and made paper boats for me are still fresh in my mind and I believe he was one of the best parts of my childhood. He would have been really happy had he been alive now ,now that I have got a good job.
But one thing also comes to my mind. Why dont we say the name of teachers who taught us for they are the ones who gave us education and made us what we are today.
In my life I have come across many a teacher who has influenced me inm a big way and I cant name a single person for it would be not good.
