There are some legit work at home jobs. It really depends on your skill set. Phone work is pretty easy to find if you know where to look. If you are technical or have good writing skills, you can make a living at home. http://wahjobs.blogspot.com has some good resources for work at home jobs.
Good luck!

I have been a stay at home mom for a couple of years now. I used to run a day care, but my son is 3 and started home schooling. So, I had to end the day care due to distractions. I found this wonderful (and free) site that was so very helpful. www.telecommutingmoms.com
Its a network of a bunch of work at home moms, helping eachother with jobs. They post job leads all the time, plus companies that are always hiring. resume tips, etc. everything you will need to know. I would recommend definiately taking a peak at the message boards! That's where I found work. I recommend it with everything, it truly was all I used to find a job. Hope it helps.

If you have good people skills, a phone and the internet; that is all you need for my company. I'm with Stayin Home and Lovin It! and they are partnered with a wellness company that is 21 years old and in good standing with the Better Business Buerau. Also they have been an Inc. 500 company. I have health problems and that is why I needed a work at home business, but the woman who brought me to this is a stay home mom of 2, loves this and is doing very well. She has been doing this for 3 years now and finds it to be very flexible. It has been so wonderful for me I would love to give you lots of information on it. There is no selling door to door, No big investment, and No risk. You can try it risk free and see if it is right for you. It's no get rich quick thing, but has the ability to grow into a full income in a little time and more. I only do this part time, it all depends on how much time you invest in it and I feel I am working with a great supportive team. I have constant help and tips and training all for free. Not for everyone, but it is legit and worth a try. If you would like more information go to http://healthybetterme.com/ and go to get more information a fill in the contact information.
Just a little advice when looking for a work at home business. I was scammed a few times and I found the best place to do research on any company is with the Better Business Buerau. At http://search.bbb.org/ you can look up any company by name, address, or url. You will get a brief description and if they are satisfactory with BBB. I wouldn't trust any company that doesn't show up with them. Good Luck, I hope you find what you are looking for.

The best site I've found it http://www.myfriendbenjamin.com/ They've got some good links and articles, and I've made some decent money with them. They review moneymaking sites before the post them, so you don't get scammed, and the articles they have are really nice for some creative thinking and making money from home ideas.

I guess there are many opportunities out there on the Internet. Most of them require an investment from your side, others don't.
One opportunity, that doesn't require any investment from your side, not if you want to get started, is from a telecom company called Fabonet:
On their site, http://www.fabonet.com you can sign up for free and without any obligations. When you start refering, sending new cutomers to the company, you will get a commission for all the airtime they buy (when they call).
The product they start selling now is IP-Mobile, voip for mobile phones, allowing peoples to call for free or at low rates, from their cellular phones.

Have you ever considered Affiliate Marketing? If you join this program called LinkShare, you can then become an affiliate for over 500 well known companies. (Examples include Walmart, Cingular, NASCAR, Toys-R-Us etc.) Earn $$$ everytime a customer places an order thru your links!
It is absolutely FREE to join and well worth signing up in my opinion even if your only customer is yourself! (You can earn commissions off of everything you personally buy too!)
There are tons of free (or extremely cheap) ways to promote your affiliate links. Place banners on websites, create your own online store, create a blog, tell your friends etc. etc.
You could specialize and only concentrate on home furnishings or computer accessories for example too!
The possibilities are endless!

Sound like you're already on your way! Is it LinkShare you went with or another company?
I didn't get approved by NASCAR either but I think it is because I'm only using my blog at this point.
I'm in the process of creating my own website though which I assume is what they are looking for!
ps: Thanks for accepting my invitation to my friends list! :)

I added a comment to the user who suggested giving Associated Content a try. I am a stay at home / work at home mom. I tend to work at night though, so that I have more time with my daughter. I work as a freelance writer.
I didn't see it suggested, but you might want to check out www.wahm.com. It is a really nice community. There is a message board where other users talk about working from home. All differnet types of opporunities are discussed.
You may also want to look into www.mymommybiz.com. They also have a message board, but they have a lot of other resources too. There is even this section that gives you background information on all the differnet way that you can work from home or the different types of business that you could start up on your own.
I started out as a work at home mom, after leaving my job in retail. I went about a year before I decided that I would like to try working from home. When reseraching jobs and business opporunites, I found the two above mentioned websites very helpful.
Good luck!

Becky, I was just reading through this old discussion, and I'm sure that you've already tried all of these things already. I think that this site, ChaCha, and writing articles for AC are good bets for income. Also, do you have books, music, or CD's that you could list on Half.com? I have sold quite a few paperbacks and movies that have been sitting here collecting dust for ages because I just didn't want to throw them out.

Yes, you can work from your own computer! I'm a college student so this is how I make my extra spending cash. When working online you have to be careful of scams though! I've made a website that lists all the sites that I know of that are legitimate. I have included picture proofs of check payments from these sites! If you want to check it out the link is http://www.freewebs.com/moneytrooper I'd love to hear what you think of it. Good luck to you on your work from home efforts.

hi mom
Dont be so sad you can work at home even you are unemployed for a long time, we are on the information age and its not an issue anymore if you are vacant for a long time the point is how much you work? Because now you can earn money using your own computer as i do. work anytime you want anyplace you want and paid for every work you finish! Actually my minimum earning for month is $300. I work on the site for a year and i would like to recommend it to you because i tested it dont worry it is a legit company they will not ask you even a single cent like other site or company do, you must avoid them because they are %100 scam! If you like to work at home send me a mail at algie_rose@yahoo.com there are lots of open project to work on. send me a mail ASAP!

All I can tell you is that I know of a website that lists work at home jobs that don't require a start up fee, there are lots of different fields of work, none of them require start up fees. www.saveandmake.com. Good Luck!

Hello.
If you worked in the Auto Business and you like to write, you could always write about your auto knowledge at associated content. You get paid an everage of $4-$10 per article and they offer all kinds of weekly content ideas. Sometimes they have opportunities where you can earn $10 or even $50 for some articles. You can use the link below to check it out:

Personally, I think that is a great idea. I also write for Associated Content and I love it. For me, I think the pay is fair and even good in some cases.
